Hey guys,

Questions re: ps4, the last 10 years I have had a bad habit of forking out the $900 odd for the ps2,3 on release only to be disappointed when stuck playing games like summoner... And other crappy games, I stayed away upon release.

I know I really want mgs, and I just found out that elder scrolls online has been delayed on the console so that kinda sucks.

Are you all happy with the play station right now? What are you all playing and what's coming out that might bring in buyers? A price drop anytime soon ?

I've been enjoying the PS4 without being blown away by any of the games - but the way games look and feel is definitely a step up from the PS3. It will only get better.

There is definitely enough quality to play on it now without, as blackshadow says being blown away by any of the games. By quality I mean they are good to great games that you'll get hours of entertainment from but they're not GOAT candidates like The Last of Us.

If you're going to get the PS4 before the next models come out - God knows when that will be - you're better off getting in sooner rather than later due to PS+ games (unless you've already added them to cart & bought them via the web).

Games I own (playing): Knack, NBA 2k14, Madden 25, NFS: Rivals, InFamous Second Son, Flower, Flow, Journey, Resogun, Outcast, Contrast and other PS+ games .. about to play Wolfenstein

Games I own (haven't started yet): Killzone: Shadow Fall, AC IV, FIFA 14, InJustice, Battlefield 4, Blacklight Retribution, DC Universe Online, Warframe

Missus games: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Skylanders SWAP Force, Child of Light, LEGO The Hobbit

Coming out soon (before the end of the year) that I'm amped for: Watch Dogs, The Evil Within, Destiny, UFC, Shadow of Mordor, Dragon Age: Inquisition (also got for PC),

Pre-ordered for the missus: Murdered: Soul Suspect, Skylanders Trap Team

There is a lot of good, but not great games as of right now.

If you have cleared through most of the multiplat games that were also on PS3 (Ghosts, NFS, Tomb Raider, AC4, etc) there probably isn't a lot at the moment to get excited with.

I'm very happy with my PS4, by the end of year I don't think anyone will be complaining about a lack of games.

Not sure if you're aware but MGS Ground Zeroes is a ridiculously short game. Around an hours worth first time through and sufficiently shorter after that. It's a decent experience but I wouldn't be buying a console for it, wait for the game to go on sale via PSN before buying IMO.

Very doubtful on a price drop coming. PS4 is doing very well sales wise and Sony really has no reason to drop its price. You can imagine to pick up value in the form of bundles that are out now and in the future.

My advice is wait a month until E3 then decide what you want.

Wolfenstein does look pretty ****ing cool, didn't even know it was coming out. Need to save my cash for Watch dogs and Mario kart tho

Both games can be had on PC for about 10 bucks total, on sale constantly. Surprised they're launching at such a high price to be honest.

No doubt my biggest gripe with consoles are the cost of games, and when you buy as many as I do... It strains the ol' budget.

Really didn't mean for that post to come across as PC vs Console, just moreso dismay at the publishers for charging that much for an old game.

It has improved in recent times though, I picked up Far Cry 3 a couple of weeks ago off the Australian PS3 Store for 10 dollars. So you're probably looking at an extra 2-5 dollars compared to the PC version which isn't too bad considering the price gouging that goes on with the physical releases. As for the physical disc prices and the digital prices on release, it's ridiculous.

I'm happy about the news that Suikoden 2 may be coming to the PSN. I don't think many people would have played this game but I had fond memories playing it and would be one of my favourite RPG's.

I just hope that it comes with the glitch where you can push a gate and enter an area where you are not supposed to be able to go to much later in the game. If you manage to defeat the enemies there you are effectively a demi-god for half the game with the experience point you get.

there are heaps of influences that affect your speed

like

your plan
your exchange
the equipment in your exchange
the condition of the copper your house is on
the distance from the exchange

and so on and so on

buying a different router will have minimal effect

Sneak peak The Order footage released overnight. Stream captured apparently, hopefully Sony or RAD give us the direct PS4 footage.... probably unlikely with E3 just around the corner though. Still looks good, RAD channeling some Gears of War.



Love the setting, only complaint is the stock standard TPS gameplay but I'm sure with that Lightning gun they've got some cool shit hidden away ready to surprise us.

Looking a very good effort for the teams first console game.

Spot on, it's about your connection but having the right modem/router can improve throughput as well with poorer connections.

There are some knowledgeable folk over on the whirlpool forums willing to share knowledge about about getting the most out of your connection.

First thing to do is run a speedtest http://www.speedtest.net on a computer plugged directly into your N150 to see just what your speed and ping times are like.

Both games have updated graphics, frame rate and resolution. They're the definitive versions, they'll look phenomenal on a big screen.

I'm in the same boat. I've gone back to my PS3 and playing through my huge backlog of PS+ games. I've really only played infamous this year and the rest of the time it's just been collecting dust. The PS+ titles have been terrible.

My smile went from ear to ear when I watched it, it looks amazing. Sony need to stop being so dodgy and give us more media, I think Ready at Dawn said the game is either finished or nearly finished and it's just up to Sony to do the rest as they own it.

Does anyone know when TLOU is coming out?
