I think it's quite possible training was dialed back to reduce injuries. Our injury list (touch wood) is the best it has been in years. That's a big positive. It may have been an over-correction that has resulted in sub-par fitness and that might need correcting. I am enjoying having our best players available though.

I think less to do with fitness and training regimes and more to do with a team not quite up to the mark - spending all of their energy in the first half making a statement…

It was interesting reading Hurn's comments in today's West - they really do believe that they're not far off the pace and have been a little unlucky…. [!!?]

There might be an element of truth in what Brad says, I really don't know. However, in my book, we have a bunch of good players trying their guts out but they simply do not have the two or three 'special players' that make the difference. Thats how simple it is, with or without Adam Simpson we simple do not have those special players who make the difference

He's a trouble-maker and criticises WCE on anything for attention and ratings .... its the old shock journo trick to get people listening and he knows there are many WCE supporters out there .

Luckily i'm working and don't listen to his crapola !

Hardie still sticking to his guns and reckoning he has inside info on this, not surprisngly

I remember hearing (can't remember where) that Sumich had a similar opinion of some of our players to what Hardie is saying now. May even have been the interview he did on PR after he missed out on the job.

Possibly that's his "inside info"?

Lets face it, we're in the business of winning flags, and we've got one of the strongest sporting clubs in Australia, and we need a good kick up the arse atm.

But not from an talented, overweight, gambling plodder who didn't have the heart and workrate to be part of one himself.

You're an idiot. Hardie's a Brownlow medalist and one of the great players from WA, considering his short tenure at the top league

If this isn't true I hope the club goes after him for at the very least an on-air apology and if he refuses to do that get the prick to clean out his pockets.

Pointless exercise. Hardie is possibly the most broke ex-footballer in history. Described as chronically bankrupt, the guy's got two majorly wrong things going for him;

1) He's a gambling addict and,
2) He's horrible at it.

Mate got tickets from him to a match at Etihad couple of years ago. Said to meet him at a certain spot... Hardie rocks up in the most beat up piece of shit car imaginable, hands the tickets over. Mate asks him who's going to win and Braddles says "put your house on the Cats". Cats go out and get beaten.

Shane Woewodin won a Brownlow and is from WA. I question the logic you're applying here. He had a short tenure for a reason.

Here's the link to the interview tonight on 6PR

Hardie trying to get Simpson to throw his predecessor under the bus on the work ethic thing - he kept saying how it wasn't Simmo's fault but its what he inherited. Simpson would have a bar of it to the point where he asked hardie if he was calling him a liar

I like Simmo.
Hardie has the worst interview skills. Like all the other ex-football wannabe commentators

Grow a fsking brain Hardie. Hit Simmo right of the bat with baiting him to make a sensationalist comment

Flog...

Hardie doesn't know dick. Just throwing shit at the wall hoping some will stick.

Average journo, average bloke.
That is an insult to average blokes and average journos everywhere.

Doesn't make him any less of a flog. Could play, was lazy. Definitely not one of the great players from WA. "Journalist", "interviewer", "radio host", "football expert", "commentator", all deserve to have quotation marks around them, in reference to Hardie. WA football equivalent of a shock jock.

He might be a dickhead but he's not wrong about our team. If they're not lazy they're unfit. How else can you explain the opposition constantly running past our players when the opposition wins the ball back off us?
If they're not lazy and putting everything into every game, how do you explain McGovern coming in and showing up the rest of our team on the weekend as far as desire and hunting the ball?
The best players we've had in our team this year have come in from other clubs recently in Ellis and Yeo.

I'm not so sure about us being unfit, but I think our on-ballers simply lack confidence.

Every team needs on-field leaders in all three facets of the game, and we have none in the middle - don't tell me SS is vice-captain thats not what I'm talking about.

When the going gets tough, we shit ourselves and don't apply ourself like Melbourne of recent years.

We are so bereft of genuine talent in the middle it's not funny.

Add an a grader or two there and I'm sure Shuey, Gaff, Masten and the other crabs will get better.

Hats off to Yeo I think he's getting better by the week, and could turn into our future gun on the ball.

Agreed totally.
Perfect.

Superb, magnificent, a tour de force, Oscar worthy, his magnum opus and a Brownlow winning performance.

Why do people always add hyperbole to agreement?
And why do people always criticize when someone gives praise?

Grow up.
