Thought he would've got some confidence from his goal and turned his game/year around from there... then later he was fumbling around with the footy on the deck, unsure of himself and lost the bundle again.

Yeah, nahAnyone defending this game as an 'improvement' on last game should look at the tape.
Fumbled every ball he touched.. turned it over several times and was wasteful moving the ball forward.. so pretty much the same as last week.
I agree he wasn't our worst last night.. but right now I have seen more out of EKav, Gleeson, Asby and Z Merrett to suggest they are worth persisting with.
I just don't see how you keep him in the side.
Give the time stamp of his best 10 passages of play and I'll listen.Yeah, nah
Guess Fletcher, Ambrose, Bellchambers, Baguley, Zaka and Daniher didn't do enough last night, based on your criteria.Give the time stamp of his best 10 passages of play and I'll listen.
If any player is contributing less than 10 passages of positive play to the team, they are not doing enough.

Fair call. Agree with most of that. The thing I look at though, is that will Melksham's replacement, whoever that may be, give us more than Melksham will? If the answer is no (which I think it is at this stage) then Melksham stays in the team.Fletcher - yes.. stopped about 8 forward thrusts on his on. Had multiple key spoils.. his kick ins are always a highlight and structurally important.
Ambrose -no.. he was poor last night.. absolutely. Didn't have any impact other than structure and gut running. Needs to do more.
Belly - no.. hence why he was subbed.. had zero impact on the game.
Bag's - yes.. was beaten by betts and not one of his best games.. but laid several goal saving tackles and helped set up 3 scoring chains with pinpoint disposal out of the back half.
Zaka - yes.. 2 tackles but most importantly took 2-3 really good grabs up forward to generate three shots on goal. Carried the ball on the wing three times to get great attacking moves. Wasn't his best game.. very very poor first half but really stepped up in the 3rd quarter and again in the 4th.
Daniher- borderline yes.. had 2 goal assists and kicked one himself. He is a 19 year old Key position player.. and took 6 marks, 2 of which were contested.
I guess I judge Melksham on the standard that he is now a 100 game 'senior' player.. if he is not in our clearly best now.. then time is running out.
I can't believe I'm the only one that noticed that he didn't handle the ball cleanly all night.. and 50% disposal efficiency when 75% of your disposals are 'uncontested' is way way way too low. I'll put it another way.. he had the highest % of 'uncontested' possessions in the team.. and the lowest disposal effeciency.. by a long way..
Well I've always seen EKav as being a replacement option.. and I would argue that EKav showed a bit last night.. I thought he was quite good.Fair call. Agree with most of that. 7 tackles (2nd overall in the game), 17 CP's (1st in the game), 5 clearances (3rd for the game). That puts him as one of the top 2 inside mids in the gameGive the time stamp of his best 10 passages of play and I'll listen.

I'm happy to agree to disagree on this one.7 tackles (2nd overall in the game), 17 CP's (1st in the game), 5 clearances (3rd for the game). That puts him as one of the top 2 inside mids in the game
Did not get to give game undivided attention last night but I thought Melksham was good and almost really good.
The frustrating things is that we are still in the build up. He doesn't yet have the confidence he needs to handle the ball cleanly and kick it well.
The penny will drop in the next few weeks and he'll rip a game apart like he was doing last year.
Someone needs to work out what make the boy tick. Because all evidence suggests he doesn't know and that no one at the club seems to know.
Reminds me of Brad Ebert before Ken Hinkley got a hold of him.
Think that many have forgotten how horrible Ebert was pretty much the entire time before 2013.
Scott Selwood is another.
