But not Patton....
Need to work out a trade scenario that allows us to keep our first pick.
Trade for Patton would be great and if we could draft one of the best 5 KPF as well we would solidify our forward structure for the next decade or more.

I don't think logistically that would be possible.
In order to get quality, you need to give up something of value.
Our first pick would be the starting point (and hopefully ending point) of any possible trade.
Kreuzer and Walker get it done ???IF we traded a player it would have to be 2 of MEnz, Yazz, Gibbs, Hendo.
Anyone know Patton's contract status?
Yeah I suppose its how highly our recruiters rated Boyd last year v Wright/McCartin/Durdin. Could be a good opportunity to snag a genuine gun KPF who is already 12 months into his AFL development where all of those 3 prob with the exception of Durdin will struggle to play decent senior footy for a few years. Even highly rated fwds like Daniher is 2 years in and struggling to make an impact. If we are lucky enough to get one we need to be patient.I'd be comfortable giving up what will probably be a top 3 pick for Patton & Cameron given they are proven. Boyd hasn't verified his pick 1 status yet (pick 1 doesn't guarantee a gun).

It's Jaksch. Carey Grammar boy. Please don't get excited by this (i know it will be a hard not too), but the club is doing everything possible to get a young GUN KPP from GWS. Can't say who the player is or what we are offering yet, but there is a small possibility that it may actually happen.
I think that would be the sort of offer that would make GWS walk away from any negotiation.
I understand the practice of 'start low' - but you can't be disrespectful!![]()
Kreuzer, Walker, Robinson and 2nd rounder get them to sit back down C4....I think that would be the sort of offer that would make GWS walk away from any negotiation.

It's Jaksch.
Jaksch would leave me a little dissapointed to be honest.
Maybe I've built up the hype in my own head, but I was expecting a GUN!
That is the kind of thinking that will prevent us from getting one of them, not a chance GWS will accept anything other than our first pick, the only chance we had as trade bait just inked a 5 year deal.. With Dogs, Saints, Freo, Lions all equally desperate for KPF talent they wont come cheaply.Need to work out a trade scenario that allows us to keep our first pick.

Gibbs was never trade bait given he was a FA. Why would someone have traded for him when they can get him for free? That is the kind of thinking that will prevent us from getting one of them, not a chance GWS will accept anything other than our first pick, the only chance we had as trade bait just inked a 5 year deal.. Who knows, maybe we're after two of their KPPs! But Jaksch was a highly-touted recruit and wants to come home, Carlton is the likely destination at this stage. The caveat is of course that things often change quickly for young lads, so there's a lot of water to go under the bridge between now and then.MS3 said GUN. Whilst Jaksch is good, he is no gun yet.
Maybe but think the pressure is also mounting on GWS to win more games now or in the very near future. That is the kind of thinking that will prevent us from getting one of them, not a chance GWS will accept anything other than our first pick, the only chance we had as trade bait just inked a 5 year deal.. I'd be expecting to get Jaksch for a second + Walker.
