Personally, I think Hinkley should get the gong for the coach of the year. Port Adelaide were a rabble a few years ago.

Well he got it last year, so should he just have it in perpetuity now?

Should just rotate between him and Lyon.

I just love it, when Hawks are standouts during the season another coach gets it for making good improvement.

When Hawks make good improvements, another person gets it for having his team as a clear standout.

I assume Clarko voted for Longmire (not being able to vote for himself) and Longmire voted for someone else like Hinkley. I might be being cynical but it would not surprise me...

Have to wonder if any lobbying goes on pre voting.

For me coach of the year was Leppitsch, the Lions surprised me and a lot of others and to win the same amount of games as the Dogs and more than Melbourne and GWS with the list that was decimated is a great effort.

The Hawthorn coaching staff were unbelievable obviously, surely a pure win/loss isnt enough justification for Longmire to win it.

I'd nominate Paul Roos.
He doubled Melbourne's position on the ladder, from last to second-last

He also tripled his salary.
