The 'Taser today (Jesper Fjeldstad) suggests that changes are likely in the coaches box, but names Campo to stay. Why would they say that he stays?
Because someone mentioned it on here yesterday....

Some interesting posts in the Sanderson appointment thread from September, 2011.

The debate surrounded an article that Tredrea wrote questioning whether Sanderson had it in him to make the tough calls that were required at the club at the time.

Tredrea hasn't been wrong about much at the Crows in recent years, has he?

Memo, Phil Walsh. Give Warren a call.
i stick to my comments. There is no reason at all to start a witch hunt on a coach moments after he is appointed

the benefit of hindsight is a wonderful thing, but my comments still stand.

Big call with these statements!

I have not seen any evidence released publically which can cause this conclusion to be even close to the truth.

Sando's actions both before and after the sacking were nothing other than civil and gentlemanly.

There are a few other individuals still present in the upper echelons of the club who might fit the statements you have made. I do not believe Sando was one of them!

If Sando was removed it was for reasons other than these statements.

Your entitled to your opinion but you would be in the minority of those living in denial if you think Sando wasn't on a path to tearing the club apart.
The club didn't get rid of him with 2 years remaining on his contract for "minor shortcomings". I would suggest his failings were numerous and they are all those things the club was looking for in the new coach. It has also been widely reported in the media that his relationship building and player management left alot to be desired.
Young Lewis Johnstone hadn't spoken to Sando at a point in time for at least 12 months.

We agree to disagree and I'll leave it at that.

Even Rowe yesterday (who had been sticking up for Sando quite a bit) said after talking to various people he realises it was all THAT bad and could have been very destructive on the club if left to go on..
Some people never think that troubles like this happen at a footy club, not sure why..
They always want to believe it's all happy families..

Correct. And by doing this he provided the players with an easy excuse. Fine to have a whinge, but do it away from the players and directly to the AFL, not to the media and not to a forum where every player will hear his comments. The slightest reason to not push through it in the following game and you end up with the exact performance we produced. I cannot fathom what he was thinking.

It was completely baffling. Out of all the things Sando could have whinged about to the press and he chose something as petty as a 25 degree day. Even worse still, he mentioned in the presser that he told his players to ignore what he said about the weather in that press conference as he didn't wan't to give them excuses for the underperforming in the next game. Seriously that itself is pretty nuts, and admitting it to the press is even crazier.

It's a shame too because up until that point, he was virtually whinge free. I watched all his pressers and he wouldn't usually complain about anything. Even things he probably should have.

He felt the pressure and it did strange things to him this season. Some guys respond really positively to pressure, Sanderson did the opposite. Unknown quantity when you take on a newbie head coach and his decision making was proof as to why they had to remove him in the end.

I actually liked Sando's hot weather whinge at the time because I felt like he was finally throwing his weight around and having a crack at the AFL.

In hindsight it was so out of character for him that it probably was a sign he was feeling he pinch.

I'm wrapt with Walsh's appointment, love the fact he isn't a fresh faced baby assistant and instead instantly commands respect. Plus he is a tactical genius which we've been missing since 2007 when other clubs figured out Craig.

Also find it funny he wasn't even listed as an option on the 'next Crows coach' thread poll.

How is this even possible? Don't they (players and coach) spend hours upon hours at the club every week during the season? U would think it would be impossible not to have a conversation with everyone at least every month, even if you were doing all you can to avoid them.

43 degrees here today. 27 is the overnight low. 25 is a cool change ha ha.

I actually liked his whinge at the time but he should have just said it once in a short, sharp, clear statement. He went on too long about it and then rehashed it during the week which he shouldn't have done. When asked about it again during the week just "We've moved on from that ... next question".

Funny thing of course was that it was the club's biggest win of the year by a long way even with the players they lost during the game. Then the next week the Lions flogged Collingwood at the MCG! How can u predict anything in this league?!?!

I had to laugh when Eddie was having a go at Sando for complaining about the heat tho. Gee, is there ANYTHING that may even possibly affect Collingwood adversely that Eddie doesn't have a crack at? Good point by Sando that Collingwood never do play during the day there.

The team performed in the next game ... until the last 5 minutes. Bye bye top 8 chances.

Am currently watching the Crows v Collingwood game on Fox. Amazing how much water under the bridge (the footbridge?) just since then.

I can vouch for 2 players ( info seperately but from direct family members) 1 player first choice and the other struggling to break in - both saying he was a nightmare - had a clique of players he was ' friends' with and if you weren't in that clique then communication was either poor or non existent

There is just way too much smoke for there not to have been a pretty bad fire IMO

Yeah, these stories, if true, are indicative of pretty serious dysfunction.

any noise in Adelaide today regarding Asst Coaches?
I thought I heard on Seven news that Matthew Nicks was pretty much coming to Adelaide. I wasn't sure I heard correctly, though, because I thought that had been negated. Anyone else hear it?

I guess we need to watch Sunrise tomorrow, when Kochie will announce it.

Channel 7 storied it.

No need for a abacus then, fingers should do the trick.

You reckon this should suffice?

Rowey asked Walsh if he had an agreement with Hinkley not to take staff and Rowie then said of course you wouldn't, you are a man of integrity. Good one Rowey.

was ths the story that was ran the other night, or was it repeated again today?

It was tonight's news.

Walsh has already expressed being ranked 11th defensively is an issue that needs fixing so whether it's Nicks or someone else I'm expecting a new Asst Coach that is responsible for team defense and the backs
