What's the story with picks 1 and 2? Is it now a given to be Petracca at 1 and McCartin at 2?

Trying to work out how to make something of pick 5 as the players available don't exactly seem all that amazing... If we knew Petracca was going to be there at 2 we could bundle a player and 5 for pick 2? I heard Lumumba and 5 for 2 on the radio but my jaw would hit the floor if that were to happen. Quite literally... I'd need major reconstructive jaw surgery.

It seems the family issue has only been portrayed by the club. We have heard little from Beams and his management regarding this.

His agent said it was 99% about his dad's health. But that was at the start of this and haven't heard much since.

As for any trade involving Crisp:
Ideally we would get 5 plus one of the 6 guys named - our am equivalent deal from another club.
If that wasn't forthcoming, then some of us here were willing to accept picks 5+21+25.
Is a trade of 5+25+Crisp much worse than that? I don't know - it depends where we taste him. As others have said that 6 game run looks pretty decent - but it's a very small sample size - and if a guy can't get a game at the lions - why would we rate him better here? (I'll leave that to Hine & co)

throw in addition of couple of teeth as well ;);):D:D

Should we maybe try to lure Boyd to the Pies instead of the Dogs if we can't get the Blions to pull their heads out of their arses? Beams for Boyd? Not sure for mine but we have to look at all available options...

My take is if we got a second top 10 draft pick that we would take a big bodied midfielder given we already have a very good Key Position player in Moore. You would expect Petrecca & Brayshaw will be gone & Heeney is already locked to Sydney. The options of this type seem to be Laverde and Moore's Cannon teammates Ahern & De Goey. Obviously Knightmare & Snoop can probably give better info than me, but hope this helps.

Getting a fringe Lions player is not of level of improvement that makes you go back in your statement.
My take is that if a young player from the Pies played the last 6 games and averaged around 20 possessions we would be full of praise and genuinely talking up his prospects as a best 22 player next year.

Just because he's from Brisbane he's a spud?

Spot On - Crisp is not a Gun but he would be a Good Young Player.

He uses the Ball well and has Pace. 2 things we need

Look AGAIN it's an OFFER which has yet to be accepted - no paperwork yet so it's obviously not a done deal - that's the first thing to remember.

Secondly anyone who considers that we will get a great deal for Beams under the circumstances really needs to go back to kinder, parity even will take some really hard negotiation - and that's IF Beams hasn't totally closed the door on other offers.

We are in a shitty situation and the club is attempting to do its due dillagence by all, no need to get hysterical or start hurling insults at each other - just take a breath, calm down and show a little respect for other posters.

Some of you are ranting you are ashamed of the club well some of you should be looking in the mirror first.
Couldn't agree more.

If this deal goes through it might well be the most dissapointed i've ever been with our club, which comes after the press release which was as proud as i've ever been of us.

There is no 2 ways about it, we would be getting shafted.

Pick 5 - About just 50% of top 10 picks go on to play 150 games and maybe 15% turn into player like Beams.

Pick 25(Greenwood) - good player, not a star. Not even in the same stratosphere as Beams, will fill that void but we will still be losing alot.

Crisp - Sounds harsh but this guy is average, was taken pick 40 in the rookie draft and after 2 average NEAFL years he has doe nothing to prove he's worth any more than that. More chance of not being on a list in 3 years than he does of being a good first 22 player.

Crisp had a 2 year deal in front of him. We were keen to keep him. I think he has good potential moving forward. A good size and has some good speed for a guy his size as well.

So do you want to trade him or not then?

He will be 22 for next season and has shown nothing, was taken pick 40 in the rookie draft and has done nothing in his 3 years to say he should have gone any higher.

'Potential'? that doesn't help us, every player that ever gets drafted has potential and he has shown nothing to indicate he has more than most.

If this deal goes through you would be absolutely shafting us.

Was told by someone very closely associated with collingwood yesterday that beams wanting to leave has ALOT to do with Buckley (which most people have thought might be one of the reasons too) Connors approached collingwood over the weekend and told them that if we don't strike a deal by Wednesday he will go to the media and say that is another reason why he does not want to be at the pies.
I love Bucks personally but obviously we don't want to this stuff to go public IF it is true
There it is! Buckley out!

We was always going to get Shafted with Trading Beams. You never get back what you trade out when it’s a Gun like Beams.

Well I am guessing Hine is a Big Fan on how Crisp has Improved and We pick Jack Frost in the 4th round in the Rookie Draft or 2012 and now is our FB.
