Yes it may have happened, if so it's a dog act and if so unethical but really what are we going off, a bunch of BF posters mediating the AFL's trade program from behind a keyboard.

Where there's smoke there's often fire - but you are correct in saying that without actual documented proof of mid-season contact between the Beams camp and Brisbane (and the Lions recruiting staff would have to be even dumber than they appear to be to leave a documented trail behind if they did indeed engage in such conduct) nothing is every likely to come of such suspicions.

Personally I do believe that they were getting in his ear - either directly or indirectly - during the 2014 season as it makes sense on all kinds of fronts, but that is really just a gut feeling as there's something a little off about the whole situation from where I sit.

Just read the last half dozen pages of the thread on the Lions board. Wow...I never expected such arrogance and smugness from some of them, especially after what happened to them last year.

I was trying to reconcile myself to this deal picturing the next Pendlebury or Franklin taken at pick 5 winning premierships and Brownlow/Coleman medals long after Beams has retired.

Now I just want us to send the deal up in flames (like I thought we did already last Friday afternoon.)

I would gladly lose him for nothing. Didn't Port send Nick Stevens to the draft and win a premiership a year later? Tell them where to go Eddie!

Surely tomorrow and maybe Wednesday morning is when this deal will be done, if it's the deal that has been rumoured.

Crisp was spotted at the Westpac Centre this morning (but then again so was Clark and Dangerfield, how'd that work out?).

I can't see us dealing with the Lions very late on, so if it hasn't gone through by lunchtime Wednesday Beams will stay a pie, which won't be good for anyone involved I reckon, especially long term.

Hold off on the applause. What the media was reporting was no different to yesterday or the day before. They've decided to ramp it up to create some extra interest at the start of the new trade week.
We know no more about Crisp's involvement today. I'm not saying the Pies won't take it but we've been very quiet. Perhaps waiting on another club to say "yep thanks for five and such and such, here's so and so."

No problems with Collingwood interviewing Crisp. It's called due diligence and should be expected by all members.
