We must be after 25 and a swap of 2nd and 3rd round picks

you'd think Collingwood couldnt sign fast enough if it was only 25 and swap 3rd round picks.

If so we'd take picks 16, 25 and 30 to the draft and have obviously have Cooney.
As yet, Collingwood still don't have Pick 25, so I'd say that's the major holdup in the deal getting done.

25 and a swap of 2nd round draft picks will be most desirable, but we'll be lucky to get a swap of 3rd round the way Pickering and Collingwood has conducted themselves in the last month.

We shouldnt accept any less than that. We really only need to push 3rd rounders as well if its required for Cooney.

In: 16, 25, 30, Cooney, Waite, Higgins

Out: Greenback

Would be a pretty solid result for us id think.

Theirs is probably ongoing.

First post from June 13, 2013, so last year's and this year's.

If you merged ours from last year and this year's together, you'd get 784 pages, with 19,624 posts.

Well this is interesting, "The deal will be done by tomorrow 3pm. Some supporters may get a shock for the compensation we will be giving Sydney, but you have to pay overs to get these sorts of deals done.
I am told we should be thanking Chris Dawes for the effort he has put in to get Josh Kennedy across. He and Kennedy are mates from their Sandrinham Dragon days".

Could be our chance Sydney hate drafting young kids so should be able to move on some soon to be delisted types for two early draft picks:P

Agree

He's alright as someone cheap, but we do not want to be moving one of our higher pick for him.

56 ok
36 nah.

I've seen a few comments on Cooney @36 and I'm all for it but understand others who feel that's too high.

I think with the emergence this season of McDonald, Turner, Brown and Wood. Dumont , Garner, Tippett and hopefully an injury free run from Delaney and Tarrant we can afford the luxury of bringing in someone who quite frankly is a bloody good footballer.

Also we'll have picks 16 and 25 we've enough youth for now.

KIERAN Harper has emerged as a key part of the deal North Melbourne is putting together in an attempt to lure Western Bulldog Adam Cooney to Arden Street.

AFL.com.au understands Harper, 22, has completed a medical test with the Bulldogs and is open to the possibility of a change of club after struggling with injury and form over the past two seasons.

North met with Cooney last Friday, but faces stiff competition from Essendon to win his signature.

However, the 2008 Brownlow medallist is contracted to the Bulldogs for next season and remains a chance to stay.

Cooney is understood to have had a strained relationship with ex-coach Brendan McCartney this year, with the latter's departure from the Whitten Oval last Friday a possible factor in Cooney's decision.

The 29-year-old returned from a holiday on the Gold Coast on Tuesday afternoon to make a final decision on his football future ahead of the end of trade period at 2pm on Thursday.

It is understood North's offer for Cooney will also involve an exchange of draft picks, with the Roos' second-round pick, No. 36, possibly also in play.

Little more than 18 months ago, Harper was widely considered one of North's brightest young talents, having shown glimpses of line-breaking run and freakish goal sense that suggested he was a star in the making.

At the time, Harper had played 37 games in two years at Arden Street and was rated almost as highly as fellow 2010 draftee Shaun Atley.

However, Harper was dropped after the first three rounds of 2013 and has not played a senior game since.

Harper was the No. 27 pick in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft.

I still think there's something there with Harper, l hate seeing talent going to waste, especially if its going to the Dog's who haven't gone anywhere for 60 years.
