According to 5AA he is heading to the Lions next year. It is a pretty lol worthy rumour considering it is March and even if it were a legitimate chance at happening at this stage, chances are things will change by the end of the year as there is so much water to go under the bridge between now and trade week. I expect him to re-sign with the Cats mid year. His manager might have started the rumour to try and boost his offer from the Cats knowing that the Lions still have a large amount of cap space.

Anyway it is a rumour nonetheless and it could become interesting as the season progresses if he hasn't re-signed. Not just for the Lions. There will be other clubs pitching offers towards him if he remains un-signed beyond mid year.

Can't tell if you are agreeing with me and insulting those who reported this or if you didn't read my post and you are attempting to insult me.
 
He has put off his contract talks. I actually support it too.
He missed a lot of last year, burned pretty bright for a bit and faded at the end. If he get s a good start to the year and gets another 10 games to follow in, he can get GFc to raise their number to him or hold out for years end and see what comes his way. Either way, he boosts his contract number going forward.

Hopefully he stays in Geelong but nothing is taken for granted at the moment.

Get Hawkins done, then look harder at Mots.
Which funnily enough all night coincide with May - June or mid year.

How close was he to Bundy?

I did hear a rumour there is some unrest with the playing group at GFC towards the coach and him playing favourites etc...
 
I was actually thinking he may follow his ex team mate up there. Could be a part of a three way deal to get Aish to Adelaide, Motlop to Brisbane and Danger to Geelong. We would want a first rounder thrown in as well of course.

Interested to know how and who you heard thAt off. Im not saying your wrong thats just interesting.

I would hate for there to be infighting at geelong as they have been so good for so long and are a pretty respected team. But aye if that means tomahawk and motlop want out then we will lay down the red carpet.

Lol Danger is a Restricted FA which means we can match and send it to the trade table.

Not a bad idea. Would hurt all 3 teams to lose such stardom but IMO the ins for each are better for each club.

Ye he's a w***er imo, if I had any say anyone over 30 would be getting 10 games a yr if lucky.
Fact I would have retired 5 last year.

Ok, let me explain this. Firstly, I believe he is a great player, no question, and he'd certainly be one of our best players. But that would mean we need to NOT play one of: Green, Zorko, Taylor, Christensen. I dont think we could fit in all 5. And thats not because I think those 4 are BETTER, its that those four have claimed their place in the side (Well, Christensen will hopefully) and to boot one out for Motlop would be counter productive to our efforts in creating a united team.

My opinion at least.

His paycheck will be more than 2 of those players. = You'd kind of have to play him. Also Christensen will end up in the back anyway

Ok, we'll agree to call all our players shit and that Motlop would be our Number 1 player and Christensen will be back pocket/delisted by 2017. Sound better?

No different to players puts off signing until end of year, he is going to Geelong/Hawthorn/Collingwood.
