Family & Relationships Advice needed: How to get rid of an ex who won't go away

Ok I'll try and keep this brief.

So a few weeks ago I became single (person dumped me) the next day I moved my FB status to single and removed that person from my life. Some days later I get a phone call and it's her bawling on the phone, "why didn't you tell me we'd broken up?" Um WHAT? So I explained the situation, went through all the issues over the phone and said I also wasn't happy and the right decision to end things was made.

Since then I've had her messaging me from a few different numbers, calls, even email - none of which has been replied to, until last weekend when I asked her to leave me alone and I wished her well.

From that day I've been bombarded with incessant calls and messages like you wouldn't believe and I don't know how to get rid of that deluded farkwit - short of asking the police (which is an absolute last resort).

I had an ex try and call me 211 times in the space of five hours once.

I can still, to this day, see the x (211) under my missed calls list. It's seared into my brain.

It takes a lot of willpower when you're being harassed, but I just kept ignoring every single phone call and message until they eventually stopped. In many cases, that's easier said than done.

Do you have an iphone? You can block her number and every number that she's called you from.
Edit: you can also do this from a samsung.

Alternatively, answer one of her calls and tell her that you appreciate that she's upset but you're not going to change your mind. If you're feeling particularly annoyed you could tell her that she's embarrassing herself by continuing to call you after you've asked her not to. Most people get the message after that.

Take her to the cops. If it was the other way around with man harrassing woman Im sure theyd take it seriously. Would be interesting to see what they do in this case.

I've got an android device. I tried to find the "disallow" option as google keeps telling me, but no joy.

On another note, I came across a website that lets people know via sms they have an STD - letthemknow.org.au

If it's a samsung you can still do it. I edited my post after you quoted me and added this:

Yep, just ignore the messages. Usually I stop calling after a month or so.

Many mutual friends.

Matters were made worse by her contacting my workplace and my boss (who knows about the nutbag behaviour of the last few months) was seriously concerned. I think something along these lines was said, "it would be best if you seek out help rather than bother this clinical practice".

Needless to say, she isn't winning anyone over with this behaviour.

Over the phone by her prior to a weekend and me going away.

Yes which is why I was happy she did it as I was ignoring some of it and hoping it would improve. I was only days from delivering her the good news.

If it's only been a few days, I wouldn't be going that step. If it carries on and on after you've made it clear that it's all over, it might be something to investigate.
