no its not.
the afl average was a tad below $260k last year
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...alary-now-265179/story-fni5f22o-1226834339957
rookies are still on peanuts in comparison
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/rookies-in-pay-push-20110714-1hg2g.html .they are on about $100k now is what ive read on here.
Either way i would put Dave's 300k on a need player imo
As I said, a touch above average wage
$300k is 13% more than 260k, I'd say that's a little over

yes but he's a below average player atm and if you study the payment chart he, is being way over paid in comparison to most players
if he was in the top 282 afl playerswho are paid 300plus he should be getting a game.Do the Maths its easy to see 282/18=approx 16

you also stated:

"$300k is only a touch above average wage for an AFL player, including 1st year players & rookies."

Do you guys think there's a chance we'll go after Jack Grimes to reunite him with his bro and fill a hole at half back?
Fill what hole? Our backline is our strength right now.

At the time he had shown that he was going to be a good KPP, injuries stopped him from maintaining the form he'd shown at a younger age. Talls also usually get paid more as they are more rare.
I'm just saying its not that ridiculous, I guess you don't agree, but despite his injuries, he's on the verge of Best 22, which would put him at about #23-28 on the list out of 44. That's about in the middle, therefore, average

What time was that. ? I must have missed it. He is over paid based on his games played and what he's shown.IF we signed him up in 2014(not sure) wll overs for a bloke who was showing something for the first time since 2010.
So we play footballers a top 18 average wage if they're ranked 23-28 on our list. Sounds wrong to me
You missed my point as we need other important players in other positions and I would prefer we sourced them

He signed a 2 year contract in September last year, you know the year he was leading the B&F before he got injured.

Thanks ,but it was overs imo based on just over a handful of games and prior history

Yeah but they overlooked Ellis 11 times in a single draft. I'm one of the few who think their current ceiling is 5-7th. Defenders are ordinary and it's Cameron or bust
What. McCarthys 15 games into his career and he's kicked 32 goals. Jack and Franklin only had kicked 15 goals by their 15th game and Cameron only had 25 by the same point.

McCarthy is a star! He moves like Jack. He would of been perfect to learn from Jack
