I reckon these medium forwards are pretty important players and I'd like to see us go left field and try and get James Sicily. Bloody hard for him to get in that side. Impresses every time he plays.

I totally agree. Outside of getting Treloar i think we need to target dangerous forwards. Its a joke that in our game vs Richmond we created so many F50 entries and converted those entries so poorly. Our mid and small forwards such as Elliott and Fasolo need selection pressure and support. As a team we desperately need more spark in our forward half. This needs to be our focus after Treloar.

What are your thoughts on a guy like Kieran Harper Snoop?

Nope. They have me blocked even though I have never been on the site before.
I thought the site was just down? Blocked is not good at all.

If Corkthorn are keen on PK, we should ask for a swap.

What does he think the new trend will be?
More guys like Stringer, Wingard, Darling and Gunston, to compliment one big but mobile KPF (e.g. Cameron, Hogan, and i guess a Nick Riewoldt or Trav Cloke, as opposed to a Tom Hawkins, Jon Patton or Tom Boyd)

I know if we could poach just one player next year, Wingard or Stringer would be high on my list.

Stringer is probably my favourite non Pie player right now. Kid is tough.

I think the immobile talls are in trouble. You need guys with good leading patterns. It's become too easy smother contested marking types.

That doesn't mean you won't see 2 or 3 key forward types in a team. They'll be mobile and goods leads. Which I guess is what he is saying, but it'll still be key forward partnership, just a change in playing style.

Would be new club. That's just such a stupid rule if true
You're right it's the new one.
The contract value etc at the old one is taken into account when determine free agent status.

Stringer has a bit of Dane Swan about him. He looks so much more powerful through the core than his opponent in every one on one contest

But he gives us an immediate upgrade on Witts in terms of current ability and we then get a draft pick 16 to 30 for Witts. All we have to do is find the money! How is this not good for our window if it's 2017/18?

Witts has given more service for the past two years and IMO will offer more, and potentially substantially more service in the ruck over the next 4 years.

We have one like this already on the list.....Patty Karnezis.
Let's keep him.

I can't see us making a play for Kreuzer.
If we do, Witts will be on the way out.

I've been in the get Kruezer camp but have cooled a bit lately.

Think the price for him will be too high for what he would give us.

Shore up the outside polish in Treloar and Aish and then try and find a tall fwd & small crumbing type in the drafts. Another lockdown back wouldn't go astray either. Opposition smalls have killed us this year.

Witts is not the type of player Collingwood needs though. Kreuzer can play forward, which is a huge bonus and something the club has needed for a long time. I'd rather have his mobility over Witts' potential rucking dominance in the future. Grundy is going to be fine and excels when given the added responsibility of rucking the majority of games alone. Plus, I've got a soft spot for Kreuzer because he was a massive Collingwood supporter so there's that boyhood dream element as well.

The monster forwards are almost obsolete, although there are some games or moments in games when they can still come into their own. They just can't be depended upon to kick bags like they used to.

To some extent this places a premium on mid-small forwards, but it also demands bigger midfielders who know how to wreak havoc in the forward line. Dustin Martin is a good model of this, although Swan looks dangerous for us every time he gets to take a spell down there. One of things which excited me most about De Goey before he was drafted was his strength overhead, and he will definitely have a size and strength which will be hard to match up on when he rests forward.

Agree with this.
As for small defender we have Jackson Ramsay who was mighty impressive before succumbing to a shin injury for the year.

I also see the value in this. He is definitely that type of ruckman that would compliment what we have.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Everyone would be in uproar if we landed Treloar, Aish and Kreuzer.

We should look to trade or package Frost as well.

We have Brown, Reid is fit again and Marsh IMO as a much better prospect as our KPD options. Frost has some "admirers" in the footy world and now that he still holds some kind of currency we should look to offload him.
