The hit

Andrew Boston - Showed me something that I didn't think he had and no it wasn't that ugly moustache! Had injuries from 2014 and his comeback was slow but I think he showed enough in 2015 to be very hopeful for 2016

The miss

Sean Lemmens - Someone who seems to have the physique of a string bean but plenty of talent there and a great year.

If Lemmens has another year like 2015 he will be out of the AFL in 2017 - his disposal is horrendous

Jesse Hogan looked to me like the best first year forward I've ever seen

Leadership, on-field presence, 'magic' goals, beating seasoned opponents, he seemed to have it all from the get go.

Never a contest for mine.

Yeah is a freak.. But it's his third year..
Millers been around 9 months.

Should only be for players that were drafted the year before. Hogan had 3 preseasons and Cripps & Sheed 2 each. Big effort by Touk with only 1.

I think there is a award on MVP night for best 1st year player , would have to go close.

Sham award - just another media award with no real voting system except 10 blokes deciding if they think you had a good year or not.

No wonder David King though he'd make a few bucks last year - just talk to a few of your mates and you can find out who the winner is, plenty of integrity around this award.

Just Sussed Adam Saads draft profile
He was a small forward with elite marking and agility till last year.
When he asked the coach he wanted to play half back.
I reckon a Midfield with Saad and Aaron Hall would be almost unstoppable. The speed they both go.
Both always go forward and attack, take the opposition on.

Just looking at Saads video made me think he'd be unstoppable if only he wasn't in the back 50 but the middle of the ground more.

In theory it's good, but could the vigour of constantly getting beaten around in the middle take it's toll on Saads body. He is still pretty small.

Maybe just pinch hit 70% down back 30% in the middle
He has a lovely long left boot too. Can see him hitting Lynch up in the goal square time after time.
Another rotation to think about

My cousin is back from Washington on holidays and has brought 5 or 6 American mates over as well. They are there today for their first ever live game.
If you were going to see your first game live, last nights would be the one to see. Loved the way the two teams played.
