Surely if we got 5, it would get it done by itself. Maybe a steak knives player if it suited your requirements but no one of any quality worth more than a 3rd rounder. IMO you would be crazy to hold out if 5 was on the table. Turning over your list for top end talent while they have currency is going to bode well for the future. Better than the Gold Coast approach where a lot of their initial squad has lost a lot of trade value. Once you start making finals, the new players will be keen to hang around for the flag tilt.

Im still yet to see how mccarthy loses trade value if he stays for another year.
McCarthy will have just as much appeal if not more with another 12 months of development under his belt. No way under any circumstance will we let him go for a single pick unless its pick 1 or 2 which you cannot get. Pick 5 plus your first rounder next year would be tempting however.
And nor could you, nor anyone without dealing in hypotheticals that suit their agenda. Freo fans included.
He doesn't unless you are a buy low sell high Freo supporter trying to steal.

I do laugh how freo fans are "looking out" for us by wanting to trade now before he loses his value. [emoji57]

See Aaron Black. Players values go up and down so it is a flip of a coin depending on his output, injuries, opportunity, mental state.
Potential is just as valuable as proven performance. Right now he has both, who's to say that is the case in the future, it's unknown.
He's more a chance to raise his value, based of what's ideal for you. He's also more of a chance to sit and sulk in the 2's and diminish according to Freo fans.
looking out for GWS fans? I don't see anybody doing that. Delusions of grandeur.

Well if freo arent looking out for us why do they keep worrying about his drop in value? Surely they would want him for less?
Let's get something straight, I don't speak for freo or even other posters - so this "you guys" makes no sense to me, nor did I imply that that's what he'll do next year, I was simply suggesting it was just as much of a possibility in the same token as you suggesting that his value would be a lock increase. I have absolutely no inclination which way things will happen, however I don't have the sheer arrogance to profess the rub of the green will fall my way in any scenario.
