Hogan? Why are people talking about Hogan? We could have the first 5 picks and they wouldn't trade him. He's the very definition of untouchable

Although it may be a blessing in disguise, its disappointing that the club missed out on two 'agreements':
  1. Boyd - Apparently there was a handshake agreement we would get him this year
  2. Carlisle - Posters keep saying we have been his preference all along until Saints came in with a massive offer recently.
Boyd for 900k is still way overs so not losing any sleep over that.

But Carlisle for 500k/3 years and only giving up pick 19 would have been a steal and a big win for us.

Exactly. So we should not be happy with just #18 for Yarran, just because its better than Richmonds 2nd rounder.

What do you realistically expect? Richmonds first is too high according to them, their second too low. 18 is first round even though its the last pick. Also how far do you read in to "it's a shallow draft" that might just mean there is no talent after pick 50 or 40 or 30, but my thoughts are the top 20 will still be class players.

From what i've read from posters who watch TAC Cup etc and post in the draft forum, even by pick 18 it will have already dropped away.

Hawthorn are the premiers and have successfully traded their first pick (around 18) for good established players too easily.
We should easily be able to at least squeeze some steak knives out of them, someone currently not in their best 22.

Even McEvoy was traded for 18 and Shane Savage…Yarran is better than McEvoy so i expect at least 18 and someone like Siciliy (if we want him)

Would take more than that to get Tomlinson over the line I reckon.

Simpkin is almost 28. Sicily could be a player but I wouldn't put too much in an 8 goal performance against our VFL side.

We need a developing ruck and Pittonet ticks the boxes; it wouldn't hurt to ask.
I reckon Pittonet is a better prospect than Phillips based on what ive seen (which in fairness is pretty damn limited).

To be safe, we would need to load up inside the Top 15 picks, that way if it weakens around the 18-20 mark as many are saying, then we still get good players for our picks.

Totally agree, im not up to date on box hill to know who to target, but Bolts should. And while lots of people might be across the TAC cup in terms of rating players, how realistically can they be across the SANFL, WAFL, VFL, NEAFL and TAC cup and Tassie.

I think we will be able to get a few picks in the top 21 and another in the 20-30 before trades. If SOS decides to trade pick 21 or say pick 18 if we get it from Hawthorn to me shows that he doesn't rate the draft.

You haven't factored Carlisle into the equation?

Excuse me for interrupting guys, but the Lamb puns take me back to his time at the Swans. Watched him closely there, and he was a dot below the classy mids we had then. Also his tank a little light. EffortA1. Didn't follow him as much at GWS, but at the right price he could be a surprise packet. Thanks for the puns.

Glad you enjoyed the puns.

Personally, I thought they were not much chop. Was worried you were going to lambast us for them...
