HE didn't publicise drug taking, A Current Affair did, in a grubby grab for ratings. And as I've already stated, if you don't want to publicise drug taking there's a very very easy way to stop that. Stop the testing. Job's done.

Taking drugs can **** you up. Yes. But it can also not **** you up. In fact, the overwhelmingly vast majority of people who take drugs aren't ****ed up, so you're expecting us to make policy based on tiny minorities and you don't see the stupidity of that?

There’s a few parents and junior footy coaches around who might disagree with you there.

It’s not exactly a moral equation for an organisation to be blitzkrieg marketing to kids, whilst simultaneously the very people they use for the marketing (the players) be splashed on the news doing drugs.

Your views are a bit outdated imo. It ain’t a game any more, if it still was I’d hear you better. It’s an entertainment business aimed in no small part at kids.

Personally, I’d prefer EFC players didn’t do drugs, as it’s not exactly conducive to an elite athlete’s lifestyle, and this club has been a failure for far too long. But by the same token, it doesn’t bother me that much. But I get the business point of view.

do you really need studies to prove that 'drugs can **** you up'. do you agree or disagree with that statement?
do you actually read the posts? or do you see what you want to see and then argue against something that was never stated in the first place

i don't really want to get into an argument about the wider drugs problem. you're obviously a drug advocate and i'm not. and that's not going to change.
however i hardly see that article as 'proof' that the vast majority of drug takers are just a-ok. they did mention that there were 3 overdoses that led to death per day though.

back on topic - it is our business if our players take 'recreational' drugs. and it should also be the business of our clubs doctors etc.
if they want to take drugs, they can happily flip burgers at Hungry Jack's and see what kind of stuff they can afford then
