Nightcrawler - Jake Gyllenhaal puts in a very good performance. Quite a unique film but despite the main character being fairly unrelatable it was interesting look at a job I never really knew existed. Despite some flaws, in my opinion, 6.8/10

Whiplash - Right from the first frame I knew I would enjoy this film and I did. Great performances from the two leads, in particular J.K. Simmons. The film seems to do a good job of showing the pressures/whats required to be truely great at something. Unexpected ending which isn't to say it was disappointing. 8/10

Interstellar - Not sure why it took me so long to get around to watching this because I am a huge fan of Nolan's work but this didn't disappoint. Some pretty fascinating material in what could very well be a reality one day. I doubted Mcconaughey at the beginning but by the end he had me convinced. Anne Hathaway was very good also. 8.7/10

Wild - Had low expectations due to some reviews and those reviews turned out to be mostly true. As a keen hiker I was interested to see how they portayed it in this movie and I thought it was a fairly accurate depiction of someone with no hiking experience taking on a big hike apart from the fact I think it unlikely she would have finished it. I didn't really feel for Witherspoons character as all the mistakes she had made in her life were purely on her. 5.5/10.

You realise of course that Cheryl Strayed DID finish the hike, right?

Obviously.

You realise that I meant it is very surprising that someone with no hiking experience whatsoever would complete a 94 day hike?

To put it simply, I was surprised that she finished it.

SPEED RACER

Much like with INCEPTION , i promised myself a few years until i attempted this movie again , for vastly different reasons though.....

An epileptic fit just waiting to happen.
I don't even want to give it a rating but for visuals alone it's a 38/10

Prefer the working title.

"Dickhead goes for a walk."

Had such an adverse reaction to this fillum.

Felt like such Oscar bait...
Would've been right up there if not for the unstoppable force that was Julianne Moore.

Hot Tub Time Michine 2

3 out of 10. Wasn't very good. Wasn't very funny and not many LOL moments. Any laughing was made towards the movie and how bad it was.

Just before I go

4 & 1/2 out of 10. Was slightly better than Hot Tub Time Machine 2 but onlt because it has Olivia Thirlby in it. Seann William Scott was ok but the synopsis of the movie was confusing and hard to follow. However, it does have a feel good social feel towards it and keeps you interested towards the end to see how it ends.

42 degrees in Adelaide, so too the better half to the movies and we went and watched Creed.

WOW, I knew it wa going to be good but I did not suspect it would be that good. Michael B Jordan as 'Donny' is simply brilliant and the kid is going to be a star.

The producers did massive justice to the Rocky franchise and closed the book on this magnificent narrative. This was fantastic and I loved every moment, however, I'm not sure If I liked it becaujse I'm an advide fan of the Rocky franchise or the movie was that bllody good.

I'll give it a 9.5 out of 10.

Will watch again.

Stallone could win an Oscar for Best Supporting actor.

John Wick

Okay, that was a-lot of fun. Baddies getting shot point blank in the face shouldn't be so funny. Stylish as hell.

Just caught the end of The Truman Show on Go! Ah, when he's slapping the wall. Damn. Christof is such a campaigner...

Bone Tomahawk - featuring one of the most painfully violent scenes I've seen in a movie, this Western delivered for the most part although I did have some issues towards the end - 7/10.

creed: 8.5/10 beautifully shot and well paced, fight scenes and characters were great.

the night before 5/10: one of Rogans worst movies in a while, though he had his moments, the rest of the characters and the roles in the film were pointless and boring

99 Homes: Really enjoyed this film. I know the director was a favourite of Eberts but I hadn't seen any of his films until now. Pretty keen to check out some of his other work. Andrew Garfield was good. Michael Shannon was great. 8/10

Michael Shannon is so good in everything he does.

The Gift (2015)

Highly recommended if you like thrillers that venture into the more unnerving / frightening. Directing debut from Aussie actor Jeol Edgerton, who's face you know from heaps of movies. He also wrote it as well as acting a major role, and did an all round excellent job. Starts a little slow but builds the suspense nicely and picks up for a solid conclusion. We were pretty creeped out 4/5

Watched Goosebumps - was OK. Can see the youngins enjoying it but it didn't really get as dark as I'd hoped but it has good reviews on RT. I'd give it at 2.5/5

Digging For Fire - Kind of meandered at times but wasn't too bad. 3/5

The Martian.
Not bad.
Cheesy at time as only Americans can do, but thankfully Matt Damon makes the cheesy themes tolerable and saves it from falling below 7 out of 10.

As a space movie rate it better than Interstellar.

Singin' in the Rain

Outstanding film. It looks beautiful and the dance sequences are fantastic, and the musical set-pieces feel so naturally worked into the story overall. Totally infectious and endlessly re-watchable.
