Scandal Dustin Martin in drunken scuffle

Extremely poor form from the Richmond supporters lining up to shoot the messenger.
I don't think Richmond supporters have defended his actions, but I'd like to think all the facts are gathered before Martin is sentenced.

Gee, we've even (rightly so) laid off those Hawthorn boys with the rape allegations hanging over their heads until all the facts are laid out.

Would think it would be fair for the media to do that for Martin as well.

Let the police do their thing, then look at the penalty to impose.

Lots of journalists have sentenced him already and have jumped to conclusions without having all the facts.

What precisely are you basing this claim on?
What makes you think the otherwise? Ask your self would you entertain a phone call from somebody who had just threatened to stab you to death... This story is one of the most ludicrous things I have heard in my life..

So your basis for claiming "it hasn't happened as claim" is that you think the story sounds ludicrous despite not one single person coming forward to claim that it didn't happen as has been described? But it sounds ludicrous. It's the vibe.

Righto.

Caroline's silence on this matter proves what a poor journalist she is. Biggest story of the offseason and she has written one tame editoral article.

Disagree. Her article the other day was a bit scattered, but I wouldn't say it was tame. She seemed genuinely disappointed by Richmond's initial response, and as much as she expressed some hope that the club could redeem itself in this drama, she expressed quite a bit of pessimism about the prospect.

Think you will find there may have been a couple of witnesses that have come forward that the AFL have spoken to, that infer the act did take place, but it wasn't nearly as heightened as the victim described.

This may have cast doubt into what actually happened from the AFL perspective.

Referring to the police in this matter will allow for the facts to be gathered in a proper manner, from the victim and witnesses and eliminates any perceived AFL bias.

If the victims account is as described, the witnesses will validate this and Dustin should be dealt with severely - football should be the least of his concerns.

Is there an article saying this?

Genuinely asking, not taking a shot.

Let me stop you there, then. Show me where Dusty has admitted that it happened as alleged and we're all good; you can say what you like about the bloke.

You're playing the "IF" game and we can all do that. It's now a police investigation and Dusty is as entitled to the presumption of innocence as the Hawks players.

Innocent people always ring and apologise for doing nothing.

how do you know people have not come forward disputing what has been described?

So what was he apologising for then?
Because the club believed it was in his best interests to try and resolve the situation by apologising for whatever he'd done that had caused offense most likely, whether he believed he'd done anything wrong or not.

Nothing at all to suggest that the witnesses don't corroborate the victim's recall of events.
No but "it is understood". I mean, sure, there's much stronger claims and reports that it did happen the way described. But "IT IS UNDERSTOOD" it didn't. That settles the whole thing.

I'm sure the police will get to the bottom of this ridiculous story, and at the end it would of been a complete waste of police time.
So in your mind it's all made up and fictional. The woman's just making it up for attention.
