Settle down lads. Sturridge wont be fit to play in the final or any games. Let's be honest.

I remember people being quite excited when we were chasing Moreno haha.
(Not having a go, cos I never know anything about players before we sign them, but the contrast between the pre-signing optimism to the view once reality has set in is pretty funny sometimes)
Grass is always greener in the foreign leaguesI remember people being quite excited when we were chasing Moreno haha.

A couple of thingsMoreno has regressed as a player since he left Seville. Was far better going forward back then. People would give him more slack if he offered a threat going forward
Still he hasn't been terrible this season, has his bad spells yeah but no different to the other players, but with where Liverpool wants to be, we probably need a better first choice LB
A couple of things
How much Sevilla did you watch when he was playing?
Can you compare the amount of space afforded to attackers in La Liga comapred to the Premier League?
Wasn't an attack on you, genuinely curious because everyone throws out how much they like a signing from a foreign league despite not watching said league.I actually do watch quite a few full matches of our signings by the previous clubs
The spaces around the La Liga and the premier league in most matches aren't that far apart, the pace of the game is different though. However Moreno's problem is he makes bad decisions on the ball, it's not a space issue
It's pretty much captain hindsight to say people got excited about Moreno because he was from a foreign league and all that rubbish though, we were either signing him or Bertrand/Davies, whom I'm sure you must've watched plenty of since they're from a league you presumably watch?

I also agreed with you with regards to him being a favoured choice to Bertrand. I was pretty annoyed that we looked like missing a good signing because we couldn't pony up a couple of million for the full fee. However, people clearly favour foreign players and there's a stigma on Premier League player signings.
How did you find his defensive positioning at Sevilla compared to this season?

he's also produced nearly the most chances in the league
I would like to see where this stat comes from and how it's compiled coz when you watch us then watch him play, you just don't see it
I don't think he's terrible but I think he has been in pretty bad form the last few weeks, almost all the goals against us nowadays are either corners or comes from his side. I'd rather a full back who is solid defensively and doesn't do much going forward than someone who isn't great at either end
I've seen plenty of quality crosses put in by him. Tekkers has butchered many of them.
I just don't see how we could significantly upgrade on Moreno. In the PL alone only Azpi is a significantly better than Moreno. Smith, Flanno & Moreno is pretty good in terms of options IMO and will see Moreno looking over his shoulder
I have rarely seen such crosses, I think Brad Smith has put in more quality crosses in his few games than Moreno has an entire season. I still do not trust that stat whatsoever
Really? I think Luke Shaw's better, Monreal's far better, I think even Danny Rose is better than him
I don't think he's Konchesky, but he is pretty average. I just don't get it when other Liverpool fans tell me he's had a great season
I did say significantly better. Monreal I'll give you. Shaw is nothing special and on huge wages. Rose you have to be kidding, hes an absolute spud. Nobody is claiming Moreno's had a great season. He's done pretty much what every other FB has done. FB is probably the last position I'd be looking at strengthening if I'm Klopp atm.
Look at what the rest of the comp have at LB. Kolarov / Clichy at City. Shaw didn't exactly set the league on fire for United last season. Monreal had a very similar start to Moreno at Arsenal and has come good. Gibbs is rubbish. Baines was very good for Everton but is declining rapidly. And Rose is a spud at Spurs.
Sure, Moreno's had a few poor performances this season but he's also produced nearly the most chances in the league and has put in some very good performances. I'm quite happy with Moreno at LB with Flanagan and Smith as competition when you look at what the rest of the leauge offers (only Bellerin, Coleman & Azicpuleta are what you would call quality full backs). Some of the stuff written about Moreno has been a reaction to his stupidity against Norwich IMO.
hi everyone. WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLY!!!! IF ANYone asks from opposition clubs, EVERY CARES about the league cup!
What's the team against West Ham? Can't think it'll be particularly strong line up coming off 120 minutes midweek and Leicester a few days after.
