Yes I have seen your very selective and biased formula and it doesn't take a lot of factor into account. The first 1 that there were only 8 teams in the competition, then 30 years later 12 and then progressively more.
So Hawthorn achieved their 13 against far more opposition which makes it harder to win premierships. 1 in 8 chance VS 1 in 12-18 chance. Massive difference and that is why the law of averages is a more valid way of working it out, and that still leave the advantage of those teams playing in an 8 team comp.

Who really care what happened before WW1? Or even WW2. You care a lot about premierships even you parents and possibly grandparents were even alive for to witness.
