I feel sorry for him if he believed that Collingwood was not doing everything in its power to get his body right.
I am confident that he will play some senior football but I don't think he will play at the level they think/hope he can.
Sorry I feel for the Berg, Reid, Marsh or Broomhead. Freewhatshisname turned his back on the club that had just as much interest in getting him right as St Kilda . He is where he and his dad wanted him to be all along.

I'm hoping he gets back for our game against the Aints.

I can just see it know........Pies leading by one point, seconds left on the clock......loose ball in the Aints forward 20.......Freeman comes bursting in from 40.....such speed, such grace......closer, closer, homing in on the bouncing pill......then......

.....

....

TWANG!

Beautiful.

His whole game is built on speed, I can't see how he could ever play a game.

He must be mentally shot. On the field he must be thinking that every time he has to do a burst of speed a hammy will pop

I understand that his family are StKilda supporters and he would have been influenced to turn his back on Collingwood to fulfil his and possibly his fathers dream. I believe that he would have stayed at Collingwood if we had offered him a contract similar to what StKilda had put on the table.

Even he realises that he is now playing at a minnow club who's survival is dependant on AFL handouts.

Yeah, I doubt that he ever gets up and running.

Soz to burst your bubble. IIRC we offered more in the long run but with triggers and performance clauses. He took the security and comfort of StKilda where he could walk into best 22.

The contract Collingwood offered was potentially more lucrative, but performance based. He went for the lower offer with guaranteed cash.

Are you sure about that. I thought we were way off what StKilda offered him.

Nope. Confirmed by Eddie on the radio from memory.
Sometimes I think Eddie spins a bit on his radio program
Don't listen very often, there's that Richmond supporter who always looks grubby or dirty that I'm not keen on

Speaking of Eddie....the great man did a small but great thing whilst in San Fransisco this week.

Sorry to bring the tone of the thread down to Bowie type levels. A young kid from Beaumaris was paralysed at Half Moon Bay a few weeks ago, an absolute sports nutter by all accounts....footall, basketball, cricket....skiiing...you name it. Life changed forever in an instant. Poor kid. Anyhoo all sorts of sports stars are sending video messages to him to keep him cheerful...Swanny, Dusty and the like

On Monday (superbowl Day) a video came through to young Will from none other than winning QB Peyton Manning, after Eddie pulled a few strings on the biggest day of the year.
