They played a grab from Thommo who said he spoke to Danger last week and said he was very happy.

He's probably trying to play down the hype
That was my take on it. Happy to be back in Geelong, but not quite comfortable that the expectations that he alone will turn Geelong from a team that misses Finals to a top 2 contender and legit Premiership threat. No single player can do that to a side and it's unfair and unrealistic of the media to place those expectations on him.

They keep coming up with new hash tags, putting it in every post, then slapping each other on the back when it trends.

It's sort of like when you put a couple monkeys in a cage and they get excited when they pull the lever and get the food.

Long as it keeps the unintelligent ones away from our board, no harm done.

Yep. It's 3 brain cell stuff.

Don't feed off on how the Vic attention to Danger is portrayed. It's the media not him. Victoria wanted him back - they have him - they will luxuriate in his being 'home'. Don't can the guy because of media hype. Victoria is Victoria.
I don't know the man but if he were a friend/ex team-mate of mine I would have nothing derogatory to say about him. He served us well and nothing he has done is less than honourable. He doesn't deserve rubbishing.

C'mon Crows, play-on like we respect the guy but more importantly that we quietly and efficiently fill his spot.

Dangerfield is having that thrust upon him. He didn't ask for any of it.

I actually thought, having watched the guy for 8 years, he looked a little uncomfortable last night. He made an effort as he always does to take it in his stride, but he is looking and speaking like a man a little shell-shocked by what is happening around him for mine.

I just hope the kid is happy. At his first presser as a cat he looked happy and relieved with the whole deal and I thought yeah, you're the enemy now, and on we go. But he has said a few disconcerting things in the months since then. When they asked him if he's loving being back, and his body language shifts around and he's dodging the question. He's done it two or three times now. In fact, aside from the opening presser, he hasn't been anything like how I thought he'd be when he crossed over. His footy is fine, but that's never been a problem for him. Don't think he quite expected the media storm he has gotten, but I wonder also how he is feeling about things 5 or so months on. It was a big call to walk out on team mates he had previously talked about not being able to leave, and without a premiership. The only time he perked up and looked "himself" all night was talking about Scott Thompson, and that went over like a lead balloon.

Reckon he enjoyed the "Me Time" last year. Especially the teasing over Twitter. Even Tweeting those guys in the Adelaide 32 jumper at the G during the Geelong game there.

Attention: He loves it.

Shame we won't have the option to get him as a usual F/S pick with all the rule changes now.
We'll get him if he wants to play here.

Collingwood news and Jaensch sudden retirement linked? Other clubs apparently had multiple people pop

Good to see the AFL updated their teams page with the change to no subs.....

Did I hear right? Is this old news and I just missed it? ABC reporting that 11 Collingwood players have tested positive to 'illicit substances' during the off-season? Surely not? Not even Collingwooed could be that dumb in light of the Essendon saga?

The new 50m rule will be softened or scrapped completely within a month.

It's rubbish isn't it?!

Gibbs' 50m was there but that first one against Buckley was ridiculous. All he did was run around the player who marked in front of him to get on the mark on the other side. Nothing in it. Will the maggots be consistent and pay everyone of those now? No way. If they did, they'd be paying them every second or third mark:rolleyes:.

It means 11 players have at least one strike for drugs such as Coke, Marijuana, Ice etc.

Not performance enhancing like Essendon players took.

Every club would have multiple players with a strike.

Ah - thanks - get it. But still would have thought players would be ultra careful?o_O
