After the number of times he has been given a guernsey in our AFL team after a nothing performance in the SANFL, he plays out of his skin and kicks goals from all angles while not missing total sitters. And he still can't get in even though we have only the new boy who is still finding his feet.

Another good SANFL game

First time I've seen him in the SANFL this year.
Worked fairly consistently throughout the game. Certainly got up the ground and threw his weight around effectively a little more than I'm used to when he has the FF role. One good set shot goal from distance, one opportunistic play-on goal from a stoppage, another I didn't see but probably one of those from a few scrambled goals at the southern end we couldn't work out from our location with the Cheer Squad at the northern end.
Marked moderately well and had two further quite gettable set shots which he sprayed. The first of these (the 2nd set shot attempt) was Butch horror show. Mark taken about 5m ahead of the goal square. Butch goes through an elaborate, slow set up including walking back about 15m from the mark. Almost out on the full. The second (the third and last set shot) was a normal setup from 25m or so dead in front and and drifted just left.

I didn't think he was great today, but he certainly wasn't bad. Only had one ugly set shot.

If 3 or 4 contested marks, 3 goals, 2 goal assists and a dozen crashed packs is considered a bad game, I think we're marking too harshly.

I want butch on our list for another 5 years. Cult hero, the oppo hate him, puts in, not afraid to dish a bit out, kicks freak goals, misses the simple ones... Loves a good over the top handball in the goal square (seriously the highest % of goalsquare goals in the history of the game, reads the play like that so well) total enigma, excitement machine, good safety for a key forward if needed.

Hope he can be a 150-200 game player for the club even if 80% of them are SANFL games.

No Schulz means he is close to a call up although Howard is the right decision if only one of them goes up.
