I was at 2KW the night of the Port and Cats game. I was chatting to a few Cats supporters (and a Crow dressed as a Cat....leaving that one there) and the question was brought up on whether I was going to boo Danger. I categorically said yes. The Geelong fan got all defensive about it, accusing me of bad sportsmanship. He even went on to say the Cats fans did not even Boo Gazza etc.
I went on to tell him that I have a huge respect for Danger and the commitment he gave you our club....but I am still going to boo. I told him that it is as much about letting go and my personal grievances of one of the greatest players in the game....and I am going to boo. I told him that Danger is the sort of player that will probably ride the attention and get best on ground....but I am still going to boo. It is not a boo of malice or ill will. It is purely about me....and in the unlikely event that I can out him off his game just a tad....well let's face it....I am going to boo.

So am I wrong? Am I a bad sportsman? Am I a nasty person? Or is it just part and parcel of the game?

Got to be kidding--of course it is part and parcel of the game. These are professional athletes and not amateurs. As a professional if you are going to take the good (nice salary, nice partner pool, decent travel/hotels, etc..) you sure as hell can take a few boos.

He is not a Crow--he is a Kitty Kat...we owe him absolutely nothing. Did I miss a premiership title he won?

So I say...

He abandoned us and will rightfully be booed by me and many others.
We were all hurting that year and him leaving was just another slap in the face, the amount of times he said 'I haven't really thought about it' when we all clearly knew he had and he was straight up lying to the fans faces.

Who cares really. We are playing great football, we got Milera and Gore. He wanted to go home and we have 2 players that want to be at our club.
Irrelevant statement to the thread. Not arguing that. Asking if you would boo him.

i will boo, but not to the extent that I boo'ed $kurt

I'm not a person that boo's. But I encourage anyone who wants to. What I cannot stand is those people who yell personal abuse at players and then look around for some kind of recognition from the people around them.

Which is what happens when they boo. Sheep

Yes I'll boo him.

The reason is because he spent the whole year dicking around the subject of his departure rather than being straight with supporters. To say he "hadn't thought about it" was an insult to our intelligence and an obvious lie

To be fair, he acknowledged this in the article the other day.

I find booing ridiculous in the first place. I've tried it and didn't like it.
Makes the crowd feel better, but does anyone for a second think it affects the player? Figjams in particular, like Gunston and Danger, most likely feed off of it. Dead silence would be far more effective.

That said, if it makes you feel good, do it. He abandoned us right when we were ready to take the next step because apparently Adelaide is such a terrible place to raise a child so **** him.
