i am hopeful but looks great as a defender as well. im excited about weitering plowman g-mac docherty byrne as the core of our defence for the next decade.

would be great if G-Mac made it, then we could set and forget defence for a few years.

I wouldn't take a 2nd rounder to take Frost off the Pies. Average stopper but an absolute liability when he gets the ball in hand. Completely stops any rebound out of defense.

Seems to be settled and smart playing in the back line with Weitering and co (in the few games they have managed together). Would rather see that group develop for a while. If we end up with an embarrassment of riches down back and can afford to give him a run in the guts at some stage, fine, but until then let him stay where he is.

He would, but there are more important areas to focus on. The Bulldogs managed to find Adams and Collins in last year's draft with mid range picks, we need elite mids and goal kicking forwards.

totally agree. just seems marchbanks name mentioned a lot with us. if we got him could weitering go forward? personally i'd like to see us draft a number of gun young mids who can use the ball. thats what we drastically need. then in the next year or so when mckay curnow jaksch silvagni mature we can chase a big forward to compliment and pay for him

I am soooooooo over the myriad of posters on here wanting to DRAFT another tall forward.
There is merit in taking either a more mature utility who can play the role (Tomlinson), who would
be capable of moving to another role when our kids mature. (Downgrade of 1st pick or 2nd rounder
would have to be the maximum outlay to secure him)

Casboult, Jaksch, Curnow, McKay and Silvagni, along with stop gap Jones have it covered, in a
couple of years we have the supposedly bigger, better Silvagni on the radar. Why the **** would
we draft another immature young tall with a top draft pick?..............we wont!!!!!!!!!!

A state league swingman or a possible DFA for a year or two would do the job. Hell, if no young ones
on the horizon, a bloke like Khan Haretuku, who has been a dominant VFL swingman for five years or
more would suffice as a late pick or rookie.

Quite a bit left field, but our biggest shortage is young midfielders, and our top picks should be reserved
for them.

You need more mids than forwards.

How many good potential mids do we have in the bank?
Hardly any is the answer.

Down back we have Weitering and Plowman, so we need 1 or 2 more.
Glass is in the bank, argauble how good a prospect he is.

Not the best kick but has weapons that can be developed some way.

A little timid for a big guy but then again we can sometimes forget that we're talking about a 19y.o. playing on 24-26year olds, as he did on the weekend.

Bryne has the potential for a gun mid. He also seems to have that "never quit" attitude. I'm not saying right now, perhaps in a year or 2.

Not necessarily. JGM has plenty to work with and we did take him with our first (#1) in the RD
What have we got to lose by keeping JGM on the rookie list for another couple of years? Nothing.
We have to give some guys the chance to develop as we have with Gowers. (Two years on the rookie list)
It's only the last couple of weeks that Gowers has really shown something.......We have to back ourselves and our selections.
