You're probably right. Not being opportunistic, but you could say a lot like John Elliot?
Funny you say that, because I was thinking yesterday that Eddie is slowly becoming more Elliot like in his approach to things.
Elliot became increasingly boorish, more arrogant, more dismissive of others, set himself up as the ringleader of club presidents, tried to hijack the narrative and most importantly, outdated in his thinking ... often paying lip service to a lot of issues without really practicing them.
It is become harder to recognise the Eddie of his earlier days, full of good intentions, respect and passion. Maybe the role wears you down?
