Lol nobody wants Lobbe. If we were really lucky we might get a 2nd rounder and the privilege of paying a third of his contract for the next 3 years. Not trading him last year was such a **** up.

The question must be asked. Will we win the premiership next year? If the answer is very likely no, then we should be looking at trading some senior players out. Players like Westhoff and Boak should not be off the table. Gold Coast, who also have a shitload of high picks (more when Prestia and Omeara leave) but a dearth of experience and leadership would be very willing traders I'd suspect.

GWS got their premiership window open, i dont think they would be interested in picks, with Mumford getting old, lobbe is better value thats whats on offer in the market like Vickery.

One can hope.

He did have a couple of good years, and coaches are a bit arrogant in how they think they can best out of a player. I reckon prob 30-40

Ask yourself. What would you give up to bring lobbe to Port? There's your answer as to what he is worth.

Not necessarily.

We have Ryder and JT in the ruck and Billy Framps on the up so we wouldn't value Lobbe as highly as say Richmond, who have to lean on Maric (ha!) and Hampson (ha ha!).

Therefore his value is whatever someone else in the market is willing to pay and some will be more willing than others depending on needs. Whether he can be convinced to go is another kettle of Tommy Ruffs though.

we have successfully offloaded some of our duds previously :D i am sure they will be willing to bite again. Lobbe, Oshea plus 3rd rounder for their first rounder?
If we chuck Kane Mitchell in too, they would give us Rance.

I agree, value will differ from club to club. Richmond, Brisbane, WB, Essendon, Melbourne and the Saints would all consider Lobbe. The Dees and Saints have one very good ruck then it falls away.
Lobbe's will want to stay I reckon but if a club sell's themselves properly to him that can change.

Phew... I'm glad we are ok in the ruck. I was worried for a moment there.

Hopfully we can squeeze Richmond for there first rounder for lobbe - and potentially milk another for Broadbent with another bottom 8 club.

3 top 10 picks would be nice.

Could be wrong but I don't reckon Richmond have a first rounder this year.. Didn't they give it up as part of yarran deal ??

We are not getting a first rounder for Lobbe. Not a second either. maybe a third, but doubt that too. Unless we pay a large portion of his salary, which sucks.

To be honest, no picks and getting his salary off our total player payments is all we should aim for in releasing him. Sorry Lobbe, but you have lost it :(

lol god I hope this is true.

Collingwood, Geelong and Melbourne traded their future first round picks for Treloar, Henderson and more 2015 picks.

Guess which club has the best arsenal of future picks...yep, GWS - looking like they'll be heading into trade period with picks in the region of #7 (Collingwood), #15, (Geelong) and pick #32 (Adelaide) in addition to their own picks.

+ McCarthy trade and whatever else they offload.

Sigh.

Jack Trengove and Jack Grimes are languishing in the Melbourne reserves. My impression is that both could play as inside mids in our team. Very much a moneyball trade but there is still a lot of upside in these guys. They have fallen behind Oliver, Viney, Petracca and Brayshaw as far as Melbourne are concerned. I would also look at Nathan Jones but he is their captain and their main mature mid.

I'd expect the price for Trengove to be similar to Toumpas if his foot is ok. That is, if we could offer the Demons a pick upgrade, we should score him- i.e. our third round for their fourth??? Our first for their second seems overs but if we have our eye on Graham or Scharenberg (who are not worth a top ten pick but will be gone by our third round) maybe a deal based on Trengove and their second for our first and some adjustments in our favour lower down could be sorted.
