Yep if we lose Jong a lot of our midfielders are going to be sore. Love him or hate him everyone surely agrees that Jongy soaks up a LOT of punishment during a game.

IMO I didn't see Jong viable in our structure going forward. Without getting into a debate he is far too inconsistent for my liking to hold down a regular gig against the top teams of the competition.. But that's just my opinion.

Ummmmm he's at a disadvantage being a "full time midfielders" as he often starts outside the square. Think someone need to tell him where to line up Could you chase up his average tackles per game and also maybe TOG average compared to others?

Both would get a game every week at any of the non-finalists and I daresay one or two of the finalists. Will they choose to stay and try to crack into a contending side or would they rather get a guaranteed senior game every week? Will they be traded for a player or pick upgrade?

Wouldbt even be in our team if not for injuries so let's not over rate them again mate.

Both are only playing IF we have another year of injuries they aren't good enough to be full time 22 and most here agree with that.

Hopefully they both go have had more than enough time to tie up a best 22 spot, let them go and see how they work in another system

Yeah right MD, every player in a GF team is a champion. I remember Shane Ellen kicked 5 goals for Adelaide in the 97 GF, lucky he was a champion. Jong was in our top 5 in our final last year.

What you don't seem to understand is a team is made up of many individuals who gel together as a team. They don't all need to be stars, look at Hawthorn and some of their recycled players. They all had a role and the played well together. Jong is not going to be the reason why or why we don't make a GF. If you can't see that your not much of a footy observer.

Hawthorn don't have midfield role players do they? They don't bring spuds in to fill mid spots they use them as back up rucks backs snd forwards NOT mids mate.
