Does anyone think a payout tax of ~$20 per member a good idea? Of course it would be more for Coterie and premium memberships and less for kids and pensioners.

The reason I'm asking is that the biggest reason we still have Hardwick is that the cost of paying him out would be prohibitive. This is obvious to all including Caro and most media people. I've heard the question asked that if we hadn't extended his contract by two years, would he still be coach? The answer is always met by "obviously no".

Well, why do we still have to put up with him if money is the only reason? If we somehow could get the money for the club with minimal financial hurt factor to the individual, why wouldn't we do it?

Peoples thoughts please and a poll has been set up.

No. **** them. They can find a way out of their own mess. I'm not changing their nappy for them.
I know what you're saying but the bottom line is that the members are the club. As such, it is our problem as much as the boards we've put in place.

this is the whole 9 yards, the club hasn't got the money to pay him out, it was stupid decision , similar to the bonuses for making finals,

I would gladly pay $20 provided they guaranteed to get rid of him, I wouldn't give it to the incumbents because their rewarding of "success" is what has got the club into this mess, and it is a mess, get the tins out again.

I'm more interested in understanding how and why the decision was made to extend him for two years. I'd like to see the submissions made and board minutes and the policy for staff contract extensions.

I would then like to burn all of that documentation and ask that they not make any further contract extension decisions without consulting me first. It's the only way to deal with these things until they can prove to me that that I can take their training wheels off and trust them to make good decisions on contracts again.

I've spoken to challenging groups and they say they've been told the club can't afford it and that is why they have said they'd keep him on.

youre not suggesting that there maybe another group waiting in the wings?

those documents are sealed away for 30 years in the interests of national security

"Hawthorn are looking at him as Clarko's successor"

That right there is the reasoning. ;)

I hope you're joking
I have no idea which club they blinked for. Only explanation is they thought someone was going to poach their turd and they wanted it for themselves. :D

A few of you blokes need to #eco and come back after the review findings are published and we've had the draft and trade period...

Thread after thread of the same shit...
Has there been another thread asking this? Sorry, I must have missed it.

Oldest trick in the book. FFS.

In High School to make fun, take the piss, etc out of someone was also know as a "payout". That being said if their was a Tax every time you "payout" Hardwick. Well given my posting history I would have well and truly covered the cost by now.
