Pretty big non-issue. Matthews was playing Devil's Advocate and Murphy handled it well.

If you want the answer then someone has to ask the question, and someone (producers?) obviously wanted the answer. Might even be that Murphy stipulated that he wanted the opportunity to say that... or the AFL, or the chairman of the Bulldogs...Using devils advocate as an excuse to spew your bile is pissweak, pure and simple
I think it's interesting that, as a lawyer, Peter Gordon has been so vocal in his condemnation of the process that the Essendon 34 have had to endure. The interview where he described the nature of the appeal to the Swiss Fed Ct, where he said that the grounds of appeal were so narrow because that is all the process allowed (and if it had allowed then the appeal would have included wider grounds (eg an appeal on the facts) was telling. It's clear from what Murphy said that the Dogs are aware of the injustice of the situation, hence the support for Crameri. Good on Gordon, Murphy and the Doggies. A club with heart. They've outdone even us in welcoming Crameri there.
The Bulldogs culture that they have going on at the moment is miles better than the other clubs.
It seems that the players really enjoy being there. They seem like one big happy family that support each other, even in tough times. It is no wonder that they are in a prelim after such a tough year with injuries. Could have shut up shop with an away EF in Perth and no one would have batted an eyelid.
Just look at the difference between them and the other clubs with players involved in the saga.
Bulldogs have publicly supported their players all along. They have accommodated them and even sought legal advice for them.
Meanwhile, Port and St Kilda (especially Port and Kochie) see them as Essendon's problem.
I would absolutely enjoy having Bulldogs win this year. That would be one of the best footy stories in history
Re the Bulldogs this is now - before they had Crameri Peter Gordon didn't support Essendon or the players at all. At the presidents meeting he amongst others advocated the afl actions in punishing EFC which started this mess.
It didn't start the mess, it was just one bit of the larger picture.Re the Bulldogs this is now - before they had Crameri Peter Gordon didn't support Essendon or the players at all. At the presidents meeting he amongst others advocated the afl actions in punishing EFC which started this mess.
Until they had Crameri they were outside the saga. Once he became one of theirs, he was involved. Unsurprising he then saw it from the insider's point of view.Re the Bulldogs this is now - before they had Crameri Peter Gordon didn't support Essendon or the players at all. At the presidents meeting he amongst others advocated the afl actions in punishing EFC which started this mess.
Feathers ruffled, i repeat, feathers ruffled. That will ruffle a few feathers.
From memory their president tried to get Crameri to roll over on the other players and take a deal.Bob Murphy, good bloke.
Actually, a few people from the Bulldogs have given some great support for the Essendon players, including their President and coach.
Another reason to barrack for them in the next few weeks.
What an absolute *head.Feathers ruffled, i repeat, feathers ruffled.
No surprise.
What. A. Flog.
What an absolute ****head.
Gordon was the spokesperson the one who had to front the media - Nothing to do with his thoughts - And that meeting was referring to AFL punishments which is nothing to do with ASADA/WADA/CAS.
I understand he is at the paralympics in some capacity, but who is he?
