I hope you don't mind the intrusion, but was there any discussion on how Hartletts long contract would be handled?Apparently just pie in the sky, but Hartlett to the Crows is almost a done thing. Odds shortening for one of Grigg, Lyons and C E-Y leaving the Crows but may be heading to Port rather than Carlton.

Tuohy ain't going anywhere, the fact he resigned for 3 years means he loves the club and is a required player by Bolts and the M C
Trigg said so this afternoon on GuesSEN i believe (saw a link to it on the AFL's official FB page)
He also said under no circumstances we are giving up pick 5 to GWS for Marchbank.
Starting to really like the man, he is such a refreshing change from some of the Gazoos we've had masquerading as CEO's in the past decade (IE Swann)

Sorry ODN but it was us that sacked him.. if it was a case of not renewing an expiring contract then fair nuff.. but we did it.
FACT is he hasn't re-signed yet & Trigg didn't say that at all on GuesSEN.
Touhy has been offered a 3yr deal.

Speaking to Kevin Bartlett on SEN’s Hungry for Sport, Trigg praised the Irishman for his tremendous contribution to the Blues over the past six years, and reiterated his desire for the 26-year-old to remain at Ikon Park.
“We’d like Zach to stay, he’s got a very healthy three-year deal in front of him and like a bunch of players around the competition at the moment he’s just weighing up his options, which is not unreasonable,” Trigg said.
“We want him to stay at the footy club, he’s been very durable and he’s a very strong senior player.

Cheers, do you mind if I quote this on our board?Hoping the Mods will indulge me for one more non-Carlton post.
Hartlett's contract is front loaded to some degree. Talk is that Port would pay a portion of the first 3 years - approx 25%.
Thanks Aphrodite![]()

Reads to me a lot like a sales pitch...
And between the lines:"we are only too happy to hang on to him if you aren't prepared to cough up his worth."

He said we wanted him to stay and have a decent 3 year contract in front of him. Mentioned he was strong, durable and a senior player and we need to keep a senior core.
There is actually a wallaby in this photo ...
The club doesn't always publish articles when a player re-signs. I can't recall a time when we've published an article about making a contract offer.
I know it's just publishing comments already made by trigg, and out there in the public domain, but this seems a bit like grandstanding. Either to pressure Zac or assuage fans' fears we are pushing Zac out of the club.
No problem with either of those, but not our usual MO.
Wallaby fooked if I can find him...
Some of your best work right there.Imagine his surprise when Trent Cotchin tumbled out.........
Has he signed? This thread is hilarious..." it's great that Tuohy has signed".
