I heard Dr Turf (big Dees supporter) on SEN say this too but said it was his opinion, not necessarily based on any mail.

4 years would take him up to Free Agency I'm pretty sure (I think his under age year counts as a year of service) So would certainly make sense for him to sign on for that long, but I've just organised an olympic sized swimming pool to fill with salt, to take with this one.
