1981 posted in the Bluemour thread that he had heard the Gibbs + 24 for 13 + Lyons from a senior foot dept person before the story broke on the radio/web, so could confirm the rumour is legitimate.

I can confirm 1981 PM'd me the rumour before it broke, so to misquote ZZ Top, it's got legs...

I'd be happy with Gibbs + 23 + future 2nd round -> lyons + 13 + future 1st round (ie blues upgrade 5-10 spots in 2017 draft)

Isn't that just effectively:
1. Gibbs for #13 and Lyons
2. 2016 2nd + 2017 2nd for 2017 1st

I like the idea of swapping 2 x 2nds for a 1st, but our 2nds are both likely to be around the 23 range (1500-1600 points in total) and Adelaide's 1st next year is likely to be between 12-16 (1000-1200 points).
Not keen based on that.

I find the points system extremely tedious. People need to remind themselves that it was set up as a way of dealing with the academies, not a way of valuing picks/trades that don't involve the academies.

I am pro trading Gibbs for the right deal. That's not the right deal. If we end up with effectively Gibbs for Lyons and 13, I will be extremely disappointed.

I'm confident it'll be worth our while. SOS will be looking to get in a few 1st round picks through Touhy, Gibbs etc.
Best case result will be to have 2-3 first round picks this year or next.
