Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Liam Jones would kick 50 goals in the NEAFL
I log onto bigfooty this morning and what I read makes me sick.
First, a multi sourced Rumour that Gibbs will be going to Adelaide along with our second pick for Lyons and pick #13. The prospect almost made me throw up. That is the SINGLE WORST TRADE we could possibly do. Here's why
1. Bryce Gibbs is contracted, and as much as some people on here detract from him, he's a bloody good player and a CARLTON player. He's also contracted for a further 3 years and in our top three players. We should hold ALL THE CARDS
2. Jamie Lyons. Talk about a limited player. This kid has hit his ceiling and its not high. A player who scrapes into the midfield of a team with a pretty poor midfield at that. He isnt going to improve any more and where he is at isnt that flash. Yeah he's decent. And would get a run in our side. But we're overpaying for him.
3. Pick #13 for #24. F*ck that sideways. In a very even draft this is a piss poor trade. The top #7 of this draft are quality. The next fifteen you can throw a blanket over. We'll be getting basically the same quality player at #13 as we will #24. And if its about some bullshit to send to GWS then it's even worse. MARCHBANK IS WORTH #24, THATS IT, CALL IT, NO MORE.
-- what an awful trade. Its basically Bryce Gibbs for Lyons. I will never purchase a club membership again if this trade goes through --
As for the second rumour. Our first pick will be involved in the GWS deal. ******* kill me now. Pick #5 is a shot at SPS, Brodie or Scrimshaw. ******* hell do we not want elite talent. There better be a ******* good deal coming back our way, including Steele and multiple first round picks or again, I will tear the Carlton football club down with my bare hands.
How can we be so ******* pathetic. This trade period is making me sick and it hasnt even started yet.
Wake me up in twenty years when we're ready for a shot at a flag, because if we do some of the trades rumoured on here we have stuffed this rebuild.
Lyons can go to hell. Don't want him at my club. I want BRYCE!
P.S - excited by the 2017 3rd for Hrovat rumour though.

That seems to have gone right over your head.Liam Jones wont be our problem after next season, so who cares what he would do. IMO Stewart would be a good pick up for where we are right now. He wont cost all that much for a couple of seasons. At worst, he improves the Northern Blues.

Remington?BLUE STEELE.
Spot on. We can all melt at what b70 has said about our first pick but we have to reserve judgement until that trade goes through and indeed the end of the trade period to assess the overall list management picture.Sounds like we're going to get #7 back.
Never rated Brodie or Ainsworth anyway...
I'll come around eventually, these things take time.
Deep breaths everybody. The club is actually in competent hands.
That seems to have gone right over your head.
Ok, if Jones & Stewart have a similar output - Why on earth would we trade a draft pick for Stewart?

It's highly likely we'll be getting 7 back imo. SOS will have contingencies to ensure other trades will get us back in the top 10 or wherever he thinks we have the best chance at a player we need going forward.
Well because it's illogical. It'd make sense if you disagreed that Stewart's output would be similar to Jones', but you haven't done that.Nothing has gone over my head. Stewart is the ' steak knives ' in whatever deal SOS has brewing. He costs us basically nothing. Not sure why that's a problem for you. Assuming that Stewart is part of the deal that is.
Will never match the press favourite - HOT PIES.You just know that will be the headline on the afl website and herald sun if he comes to us
Will never match the press favourite - Andrew Walker's Hat.
So I just noticed the AFL have panicked & are taking a heap of GWS's extra salary cap space off them. Any chance this Marchbank deal becomes another salary dump? That'd be perfect.
Doesn't 1 for 5 and 7 violate the points rule? That would seem unlikely if GWS are after the number 1 pick.

If you want a forward of that standard, why not simply extend Jones' contract?

Crystal ball...... "McCluggage kicks a bag"Will never match the press favourite - HOT PIES.
Assuming we can get 7 back and going off the rumour of Hrovat being traded for a 2017 3rd rounder, a massive swap of picks and players is on the cards. No idea mate, all this points swapping stuff, discounts for academy players etc just confuses me.

We trade 5, 24, 42 and 55 for 7, Marchbank + other(s).
We then trade some or all of Tuohy, Gibbs, Everitt, Graham and Buckley for extra picks/young steak knives.
I'd like to keep him too but it appears nothing is off the table atm.Keep Bucks.
Kid has some tricks.
