I think this conversation needs a bit of balance. We MAY have the upperhand but barely, outside of Cam Macarthy, these days if someone signals they want to go they get to where they want to go.

As much as I want to 2 first round picks and a player like the rest of us, it's unrealistic and I don't want us getting a trade rep like Essendon.

A sub 10 pic and a player should get the deal done. On trade that 1st pick to GWS and hopefully we still get the 5 for 1. Then draft a quality mid at 5 and try and collect one extra 1st pick.

I feel a little bit betrayed by Bryce leaving, however we have the opportunity to make this a long term win for the club!

I agree with the realism but we're in a unique position of being able to add a little something extra to any deal for Bryce. We're in a position to pay a significant part of his wage at Adelaide. It may be the extra carrot that the crows need to actively search for and find an extra mid first round pick to go with 13.

FWIW I think we shoot for picks from any Bryce deal. Im not happy that we're losing him but if its happening then we need to get back to the pointy end of this draft.

I don't think Adelaide really announced it early, and I don't think Carlton is really pissed off either. I think an in principle deal has already been struck, but the moving parts depend on one or two other trades being completed first, or another player being used as a chip is yet to agree to terms, and the rest is window dressing.

Anyway , I'm going to applaud him fir doing what we shouldn't have done 10 years ago. Having the balls to pull the trigger and build from the ground up . It's about time we got fair dinkum. It's about winning a flag , this is our chance to put that groundwork in place

In two years you will not recognise the Carlton football club and in 4 you will applaud what sos has done.We don't want top 8,we want top 2!
