Francou & Chad Cornes together again, just when you thought we had all the "Prot power est. 1995" brethren out of the club lel
Amon is still around.

I've heard John Rombotis will be our senior coach next year with Donald Dickie, Brent Heaver, Daryl Poole, Danny Morton & Barry Brooks his assistants. Complete clean out. A new era of elite coaching.

Dickie as forwards coach to work exclusively with big Dix.

In all seriousness after the talk around here that Dew and Enright are potentials to come here, Josh Francou would be very meh
On what do you base your assessment that Enright would be a better assistant coach than Francou?

Having listened to a lot of Francou on 5AA a long while back i am firmly on the anti-Francou bandwagon. He literally sounded like one of those fans in the stand that yells kick it all the time. If we get him i hope he proves me wrong but honestly i don't feel that he has a true footy brain.

I'm very cautious about Francou from his radio days. Was one of those "PAFC est 1996" types.

Francou was one of the best extractors of the ball in traffic that I've ever seen. In fact, I can remember Jack saying that but he often had to start him on the bench at first because he used to get so nervous pre game. I will be very happy if Josh is in charge of our midfield.

Well if you are going to base your disappointment at getting Francou as an assistant coach on us not getting two people who were never coming to Ports as assistant coaches you may as well make it three. :)

I'm excited for any new coach, however I'm not going to expect them to be the solution to our problem until they show that they are the solution to our problem!

Josh was a development coach in his first year there and after one season moved into the midfield coach position. You know that midfield that always smashes ours?

Admittedly it wouldn't be too hard to coach a group consisting of Parker, Hannebery, Kennedy and Jack to overwhelm whatever mob of triers we manage to cobble together in the midfield at any given point in time.

How Zen.

Yeah, a bit like Cornes coming here after coaching GWS. What a come-down.

Let's face it. Who knows how any coach will perform until they have performed. So what's the point in building this massive expectation they will do great things and then not deliver.

The chances are skewed to failure over success, so I'd rather sit on the fence with mild optimism and just see what happens. I like that fact however Cornes, Francou, Lade have return, all fiery, competitors in their time, with Voss and Basset, we should have a fierce coaching panel really.

He definitely someone I'd roll the dice on and perhaps start off as a development coach and work from there. They've got to start somewhere. Everything he's touched so far in his career has turned to gold.

He's go the Midas touch you reckon?!

Perhaps I take people too seriously on this board but their has been pages of innuendo regarding Dew coming here and a couple posters have said that they've been told Enright is going to be here too.
