Can anyone clarify if the veterans allowance is being scrapped next year?The Hun reported back in March we had 5 vets sitting at 635k outside the cap, I'm wondering if this is a factor in the club moving on some of our older stars

So it seems like Lewis is staying boys, the sources are getting stronger. It is only Mitchel at this stage.

I'm actually a little disappointed. I was getting a kick out of the repeated nervous adrenaline rushes every time a new rumour came through.

I believe it is being scrapped next year but I also thought you could only have to nominated players who could go on the veterans list at any one time with half of their salaries being outside the cap

The AFL keep tinkering with it, on the AFL site it states a percentage of the players wage based on the number of veterans, we had quite a few eligible because it changed from over 30's to players who have served 10 years at the club
