Are we the only club that has paid overs for a GWS player (Hampton)? They seem to let them go cheap as chips (most probably in exchange for not bidding on academy players).
It seems that way doesn't it. Hampton should have been a no brainer for a low pick. Not getting a game and didn't look like it who wanted to go home.

It's a really good point.

Whats out second rounder this year going to be? Late 30s after academy picks etc? It's an interesting one. I still think Hampton offers a lot and could fit in to our best 22 next year. But at this point we certainly haven't come close to getting any ROI.

We had Noble is it any surprise?
I think he did some things well but in the trade week he tried to be too fair.

Basically payed same or more for Hampton than saints paid for Steele . I know who the better player is there

Because some w#@#@r was obsessed with getting all the trade business done on day bloody one.

2015 and 2016 2nd was a pretty expensive bit of shopping given the current return sits at zero.

Would want them both to be playing AFL next year
Correct - to be fair to Hampton we need to wait until he gets through a full pre season before we can judge his capabilities more acccurately

But having said that if he fails to get through a full pre season again he may just be too unlucky to be an AFL footballer

That's a terrible deal by mfc. No wonder lewis is desperate to accept it.

The third year is incentive based, and Lewis is 30 with no major injury history. Aside from maybe being a little early for Melbourne, I don't see the problem with it, it's not like Collingwood giving 3 years to 32 year old Wells with 31 games in 3 seasons.
