Dunn used to give his all whilst their midfield was getting slaughtered and the ball would just keep coming. In a more successful team he would be a lot better regarded. A real hard defender who seemed to never give up or shy at the contest. Well worth the gamble.

No we don't, IMO. Reid, Keeffe and a mature state league player was plenty of cover I was all for the direction we were taking! We've also only lost 1 KPD.

Exactly my point!! When the whole point of trade period is to improve your list how does getting rid of one meh player and replacing them with another meet that objective?! It's like banging your head against a brick wall at times lol.

Help me understand how choosing Adams? from the VFL is a better option here than Dunn.
I don't agree that he is a better player, but happy to be convinced.

Further he doesnt offers the leadership or experience to assist our young group, that Dunn offers.

So for me your preference is purely about youth compared to Dunn.

I think he will end up surprising quite a few on here if he can come close to anywhere near some of his better footy.

At his best is a quality player.
From what I can recall, he's better at playing on gorillas, which is exactly the type that we'd need him playing on.

If he isn't as capable on more mobile forwards, that's okay, because we've got guys who match up better on that type.

Dunn's advantage is that he can be used as a loose man because he's actually a decent kick. We were hemmed in with Frost and Brown because they were useless outside of a pure negating role, whereas Dunn would give us more versatility.

He's also capable going forward more versatile player then frost or Brown. Brown is a better negator but by his own admission struggled to come to terms with "team" defence.

Reported by Brett Anderson on SEN, the WHE met with Nortf today, but Anderson still thinks he will go to pies.

That not a Good Sign

Because an Adams type has never been in the AFL system. They still have untapped potential that could blossom under a strong development system. We already had leadership and experience in Brown so we didn't gain anything. Again its just a sideways move, but at least there was a connection with Brown.

My preference, which seems to be lost on most here, is that if we're making moves on the ilk of Brown and Frost that the club should take a punt on finding a guy that could potentially be a top 10 player for the club via the draft rather than move sideways on a guy we know won't.

The thought process just doesn't add up to me for a club trying to find ways to improve.

Dunn has given Cloke serious trouble on several occasions. Bit of a scragger but as people have said already; punches above his weight and can kick. I'm not averse to a couple of years rental, especially if the money involved is minimal because Melbourne went youth policy on him.

Yeah it is not a poor decision and really beggars can't be choosers.

The Treloar trade has had a short term restriction on our ability to trade and hit the draft. (Not saying it was the wrong decision as he is a true gun).
Agreed. Trading a future pick is going to have a flow on effect. I wouldn't give Treloar back for anything, but what we are seeing now is the back end result of it. Without having the currency, Free Agents and cheapo pick ups is what your left with

I am 100% sure that is not true.

He has not even asked to be Traded yet
did not aish do the same thing and waited till the last couple of days before it was announced

Why would he go to the kangaroos they are gonna be below us next year
The Roos must have some serious cap space available. Could be part of the reason.

Maybe WHE found out Dunn is joining Collingwood so is looking elsewhere. I understand why we are looking at Dunn but I don't have to like it. I just wish we had something decent to trade down to so we co u ld secure a quality kpd from the draft
