Like you for example but it depends on what day of the week it is.

Does it? Well as of Tuesday I am feeling ambivalent, I'll probably feel a bit more positive by Friday.

So what still needs to get done?
Outs:

Witts
Cloke
Frost
Greenwood?

Ins:

Dunn :(
WHE?
Miraculous pick upgrade to the first round

It's gonna be a busy day tomorrow!

I see a few trades going into Friday.

Apex36 is there any Move you like this Pre-Season?

Head in the sand is what it's called
No, more like having a pleasant disposition where you're not slitting your wrists every day.

0.8 Frees For Per Game 0.4
0.9 Frees Against Per Game 0.9

More games and a better statistical average.

Like I said earlier, pretty pleased to get him for very little if possible - but a lot of people seem averse to Collingwood signing anyone who isn't an absolute superstar.

Nathan Brown is an average defender at best. Dunn is on par defensively and a better kick.
Heard this same bullshit when we recruited this hack.

"It's an upgrade" "He'll be good if he recaptures his best form" "Cost's nothing and fills a need blah blah blah...." were some of the gems bandied about then and now in the name of self reassurance.

Russell was a spud who was finished. Dunn is a little less of a spud but 5 years older than Russell was when we traded for him and also finished.

Just a waste of a space on our list when we are supposedly looking for improvement, even if it is cost effective. A bloke who isn't good enough to play at Melbourne (who are about par with us though tracking better) is seen as a good get by some . Just unbelievable. At his absolute best ie about 3-4 seasons back he was just an average player, never in any way elite or even good.

And Brown was a much better 1v1 player and defender than Lynden Dunn.

I love the move for Wells. His inclusion instantly makes our midfield better by adding classy disposal and outside run. There's not really much else to like so far imo, with all our other moves looking like sidegrades rather than genuine improvements.

Hopefully we can make a few moves tomorrow that take us in a positive direction. Wrangling pick 24 or 26 from the Suns would be a good start.

Lyndon Dunn?? Are you f***ing serious?? Lucky I'm on the other side of the world and won't have to put up with this crap for the next few years.....

Your post is of interest, but it's hard to quantify negating powers. I have seen goals against from time to time, but it seemingly pops out of nowhere.

Brown is certainly solid at not conceding goals, even though he has some considerable flaws. He's a Moneyball-esque player for mine in that regard in that he does his primary job just fine, despite the fact that it ain't pretty.

For mine, the query on Dunn is around his contract offer length. If it's two years, why not just keep Brown? If it's 1, then the likes of Dunn and Silvagni are just stop gap measures (and NQR like Brown / Frost / Marsh anyway!) and designed to have cap space cleared for the 2017 trade period.

Wells in the Short Term is a Good Get. Makes the Midfield Better.

Tommorow will be Interesting on what we do and Still have Thursday as well

I actually agree with you regarding the Brown v Dunn comparison but Brown chose to move clubs. Now whilst we could have matched the offer we all know this almost never happens, particularly when the the original club thinks he is being offered too much. So the question is how do we replace Brown when we have no decent picks or players to trade?
What would you have done?

Oh cmon can't you smell the 2017 premiership.

I doubt many people here think we are going to win the flag next year. Why are you rubbing our noses in it?
