If by Richmond logic Deledio = Caddy, and Deledio = pick 15 then why would we accept anything less than pick 15 for Caddy?

If I may reply ?

That is pretty simplistic. Lids for Caddy would have been fair swap. Reason being Cats get a need addressed. A elite kick, with elite speed. Richmond gets a inside mid who has a bit of campaigner about him, with a good work rate. Obviously that was rejected in part due to his large contract ( lids). It has just been fortunate GWS who always pay overs due to having so many picks can throw us a late first.

so it looks like Geelong has once again assumed their mantle as every other teams bitch during the trade period. The great news is though guys, we have a really good reputation with other cubs which will help us do deals....one day.......one day......one day.....

its a flipping joke how pathetically soft we are.

Why was Lang not in the side and when he was he was dropped for playing poorly?
I go along with Cockatoo's potential but Ruggles is and will be in the future better than Lang or Bews.
Why was ruggles dropped for Bews in the prelim? If the argument works for Lang and ruggles then...

The thing that baffles me about that quote is he somehow got the idea that "Caddy is extremely keen to come to Richmond" from Wells saying Caddy was "happy at Geelong"

It's a crazy world...

Which leaves one thing, if the deal helps us or is in our favour we do it, otherwise sod off tigers, you hold no power in this trade.

No I won't but thank you so much for your concern.

I have this general idea that trade period is not worth melting over.
I care about the well being of all Geelong supporters and I hold grave concerns for a select few after Caddy is given away in a raffle just as Smedts was and just as our last 2 first round picks were. The Henderson pick has been justified but Tuohy is a grub.

If I knew how to upload FB voice messages you'd get a good laugh out of my Carlton friends satisfaction with this most recent trade. They couldn't wait to see the back of 2E. Gets pushed under the ball and is poor one on one.

I also hold grave concerns over the direction this club is taking but that's just me.

From the outside looking in I'm done.
We have officially lost the plot, from my point of view the back half of this year we were a 5-8 side, and on the slide.
Overpaying for everything we get (danger excluded), lack of development, terrible at the draft for last decade, inability to build on anything since 2012 and slowly wasting away till Scott and wells try and throw a Hail Mary in an attempt to buy a premiership. Makes me throw up.
If anyone out there can tell me buying a premiership and throwing away the future is as satisfying as build a density a la 2004-2011 is just lying and kidding themselves.
I thought you were better than that Geelong.
Just one year before our last flag Footscray were in 3 consecutive prelims, bottomed out, have a gun young list and a flag.
Pathetic pathetic pathetic.
For all those saying a downgraded pick is not a big deal, look at the quality difference over history of 10-20 compared to 20-30.
Scott is useless, wells best work has been blitz in the last decade (guthries dad anyway) and we are now a soft corporate club. The Arsenal of the AFL.
Scott isn't half the coach or teacher bomber was, our assistants are stale and wells would overpay at a 2$ shop and couldn't pick an apple off an apple tree.
The team is average, riding on the back of danger-wood.
Completely disfuntional forward line, dismal slow ball movement, with an inability to stop teams scoring quickly, st kilda, Carlton, Collingwood, even had massive periods of dominance against us this year and beat us because of it.
Lapses in effort, b grade performers, and a complete unknown of what type of side will turn up from week to week.
To many players just don't turn up, soft, soft, soft.
Sydney first quarter prelim was just pathetic, and the club thinks we are close?

Danger was a mistake, I'm saying it, great player but has put the club back 5-10 years as a consequence ala Judd. One man teams don't win premierships, hanging a hope on one player is just ridiculous. If he doesn't come the club after finishing 10th, might have really seen where they are at...below average and nothing coming through.

"Oh but we were one win away from a gf" some say, well if anyone seriously thinks we could have beating GWS, Footscray or the swans in the form they were in should be in a asylum, say hello to wells and Scott for me, I'm sure their eating their own feces or throwing it at each other.

I'm done Geelong, I hope you do well, let me know when you pull your finger out of your ass and take a good look in the mirror, I'll buy a membership again then.

Until then....

I think someone has escaped...

It makes perfect sense but I can see us letting him go for a pick in the late 20's. Hope I'm wrong.
I'm not commenting on the deal being good or bad,but Caddy is incredibly overrated on this board.
Turnovers and bad decisions are rife in his game. There were several games this year that I wished he was
playing for someone else.

Thoughts on the Caddy situation:

First, the contract offer must be substantially better and/or Caddy has no faith he will break into our midfield. Why else force a move to Richmond?

Secondly I don't see how we would entertain offers unless we were getting overs for him. Or something we don't know about is in the works.

Thirdly, I like Caddy but he is not irreplaceable. Remember we unearthed a gem inside midfielder in Menegola and expect SS to be a lock over the next few years. Pick 15 with a minimal loss to our best 22 I would accept. Pick 27...stretching things and wouldn't understand.

Yes all leadership has a used by date.

Those reports are wrong.
You don't actually know that though PO... we assume they are wrong.

We also aren't privy to the discussions or the plan and the end game long term plan.

Nothing will suprise me anymore regardless of what I think the outcome should be

Is worth us going at X.Richards and maybe a WHE?

Surely can get them cheapish with out breaking the bank on either.

I personally think Richards could be a good get. A young solid CHF with some pace about him. Could be a good fit

Bloody Meatball on the AFL is saying he is in talks with Caddy to lure him to Punt road , no need to drag him to that rabble mate

Good thoughts , I also think Cockatoo offers more for us as a replacement - probably better overhead , quicker defensively and offers some run in the midfield. So get the overs , use 15 to recruit a young gun and unleash the Cocky :thumbsu:

We don't have any more 1st round picks for clubs to take advantage of. ;)

WHE is going to the Pies. His entire family are life long Pies supporters and another family member is on the Pies payroll. He doesn't want to play for anyone else.
