Any club can draft him on those terms however and he has to go there. Freo would be lol-worthy and he might be ok with it![]()
You have to respect the Hawks. They tried something bold but it won't pay off this time. Clarkson can begin looking for a new job because he can't stay beyond next year. Sold the heart and soul of the club for next to nothing. Succession plan is a must.

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/out_of_contract_players?year=2017Don't care either way
We get him without selling the farm......great
We get him at pick 10 in the ND......even better
Someone else nabs him......we use pick 10 on a young player and keep cap space for FA next year.
And we can use 2018 future first rounder to nab a Shiel from GWS
And Margot Robbies last film was a flop, somehow I think you would still **** her given the chanceI love how everyone seems to forget the bloke hasn't played for 2 years and is coming off a serious injury.
There is plenty of risk associated with this move.....but hey, he is still worth top dollar
Only teams he wants to will know what the terms are and both the ASA and cap components must be matched.
He'll go to Hawks at 10 in the ND as i said he would last Wednesday.

i expect 8 to be traded tomorrow. We will get a good look at how shrewd Cochrane is tomorrow. If pick 8 gets traded to Essendon/North/Richmond/St Kilda (or any other Victorian team), we can expect things to heat up drastically, as the draft threat loses much of its venom. That club has a month to work on Jaeger to get him on side.

For what? to who?i expect 8 to be traded tomorrow.
As long as you can fit him in the salary cap its open as to who gets him before the Hawks pick 10.Any club can draft him on those terms however and he has to go there. Freo would be lol-worthy and he might be ok with it![]()
In reality why not? Suns talking a big game. Why wouldn't they follow through? You just saying it's impossible just because it doesn't benefit your club doesnt make it so.In reality there will be no chance they do that.
Has to stipulate the terms, if he wants to set some, when enters the draft. Equally has to agree he will go into the draft and play for whomever selects him on those terms. Every club enters with the same option to draft him and he will have to go there. Having fun yet? Im having fun![]()
Guess someone forgot to tell the Suns.Dude, this was set up months ago.

If we did 8 for our 2017 first rounder and the Hibberd pick, Hawthorn would be completely boxed out and would have to up the offer if they had any chance of securing him.St Kilda
North
Essendon
You got a spare armchair over there? I'll BYO esky and one of those party noisemakers to blow at the Computer screen periodically whilst Tony lights the last trading day on fire and watches the Hawks future burn![]()
I'm hoping like hell it doesn't get done. Want to see GC get nothing for him for the lols.
He does but they aren't made available, only the Hawks will know, other teams have to give their cap details to the AFL who will decide whether they have room, if they do they re given the contract terms, if not they are told they simple told no they cant.
The tricky bit is the player can nominate exact amount in the ASA and cap and teams will need to have enough space in both to meet this, just having enough money overall gets you a no, like Brisbane and GWS did with Tippett.

Those three could, Brisbane and Carlton could do it without even consulting the books. Its my understanding that he would nominate a contract length and amount per year (lets say $750,000) and then its up the club thats looking to pick him up whether they want to front-load it etc to fit him in. Think its crazy to think that clubs like Essendon, Fremantle and GC themselves wouldn't be able to match the Hawks offer.
oh look here a person with an intimate understanding of each clubs salary cap position. How does it feel being the expert with regards to this subject matter? Those three could, Brisbane and Carlton could do it without even consulting the books.
