Editied for accuracy.1. Lose the best player in the game for unders.
2. Dont replace him during the trade period.
3. Over pay for Hampton with our future second.
4. Even with losing the best mid, we draft a backman with a first round pick.
5. Get rid of serviceable midfielder for peanuts
6. Don't replace him
7. Premiership

We didn't. We announced that Gibbs had requested a trade to us, but recognized that he was a contracted player, so we would work with Carlton to try to work something out.If the deal wasn't done we shouldn't have announced he was coming home
no, it's really notIt's still embarrassing for ADELAIDE to come out and say he wants to come home, but then not get the deal done
Nope, confirmed by Gibbs manager just then on Trade Radio. Not happening. My fingers are still crossed the deal is stuck in the cloud

Mate I'm devastated by this. I was 100% certain based on this source who is very very informed about AFCs dealings. Makes me wonder what happened behind the scenes.
Not many but thanksApologies for any classless Carlton peeps posting in here.
Glad we set our price and walked away.
If Gibbs really wanted to move, he could have been more public and moved the process along. He was silent and he is the one that has to deal with the outcome.
At least we have reasonable cash to roll forward for free agents next year and still think we can pick up Gibbs much cheaper next year.

It was not announced anywhere that Gibbs would be playing for the crows next year.
