Apologies Mr. Hemmingway.Lol, you fail English? That's unpossible.
My take is Adelaide will land Gibbs in a three way trade where we nab Bontempelli......

Hopefully Silvinis folds faster than superman on Laundry day next year. If not the crows can go after Rockliff, Martin. Cripps or Shiel or another midfielder that is on the market
I'd take Rockliff,Martin and Shiel before I'd take Gibbs to be honest, although I can see the romance of Adelaide bringing home an SA boy.
I'd tread wearily around Cripps. Silvini was a defender who now seems to be obsessed with recruiting defenders due to his over inflated ego. They have one good player who is young, gets very little support and surprise surprise is starting to show signs already that it's to much for his young body. I'd hate to see Cripps not reach his full potential because of Silvinis bazaar recruiting strategies and neglect of their only decent player.I'm sure Carlton fans will still be happy to lavish the guru with praise whatever happens.

We know you are a well known Carlton hater so its hard to really take anything you say seriously.
But to be honest most Carlton people were just hoping that after Adelaide couldn't get a deal done that Bryce would come back to club and be professional about the situation, put in a big pre season and get on with playing good football next year and not come back and sulk it up.
I am sure you feel the same about Marcus Adams who couldn't wait to get home after 1 year at the western oval.
I can actually understand your strange harping about spelling as you can draw some pretty cool parallels with th CFC.
Yes,yes, keep living in the past.Get it right, always refer to him as Mr Steven Silvagni.
How would you know, you havnt even been a member for a week. Or is this a alt account your now running with?He is a well known Carlton hater and genuine troll.
Silvagni hasn't proven anything. He has traded for a bunch of players from GWS, none of which have really reached their potential whilst at Carlton. He traded for two players from Adelaide that were not good enough to get a game here, and won't be an effective part of your next premiership-contending team. Essentially he has put all his faith in players that are list cloggers rather than backing in his talent scouts and recruiting staff. He is still miles off pulling together a top-4 list. Now to the Gibbs decision. Yes he wouldn't compromise. But that first and (third or second pick) that Carlton could have had (in a super draft) may have been gun players that could bring Carlton to that next level in a few years. He has opted for keeping a player that would rather come home to Adelaide and in 2-3 years will likely be winding up his career, than draft players that will actually improve them long term.
Sell when the value is high. I wish we had with Dangerfield. Picks 2 & 3 from Melbourne would have been nice. I am glad we cashed in with Bernie Vince, Matt Crouch is a gun.
Why's he sook? It's the Carlton fans who sook it up if anyone suggests facts that they are a bottom side or might have missed the chance to get a good player but chose to keep one that made it pretty clear he no longer wants to play there.Stop crying sook it is embarassing. Get on with your life.

And Silvagni has proven nothing, the poster was spot on. Yes he was a great player, but he certainly hasn't earned the title of recruiting guru. Seems far to ego driven for a start and is picking up unwanted players from other clubs as a re build tactic.
Hardly surprising now that Carlton fans are getting excited by a few things Gibbs says in an interview post this whole thing and really expected anything different, what else was Gibbs going to say really?
I'm not sure Adelaide approached Gibbs first but I hardly see any relevance,he still has to want to go.So history clearly shows he didn't want to play for Carlton any more, and who could blame him.
Carlton are years off being anything more than a bottom side, the list still with over a dozen players not up to AFL standard and a fair few more if Silvinis ego driven imports don't come off the second time around.
My take will be Adelaide will have another crack next year and will eventually get their man.
Still think the best scenario is he leaves in the next 2 years for a reasonable pick as he wont be in Carlton's next premiership. Id be happy for port to have a try, just need to make parties happy in the trade.
Just remember he is 27 and has been very durable and could easily play to 32-33. Do you think there is any team in the league that are not a chance at all to be a shot at a flag in 5 years time.
By your logic its no use him going to Port as he won't be part of your next flag either?
What lack of knowledge in regard to a Carlton poster calling people sooks because they dare question Carlton superiorority. Carton are no good, there is plenty of evidence, even a heavily suspended Essendon defeated the Blues and still you all think your on the right track just because of Silvini.Once again with the lack of knowledge about our list and what we were trying to achieve by picking up these players. Our ladder position has zero bearing on this thread AND Gibbs is totally fine with staying at Carlton.
I think u blokes proved it can happen pretty quick if u get it right.....flogWhat lack of knowledge in regard to a Carlton poster calling people sooks because they dare question Carlton superiorority. If Gibbs was perfectly fine staying and Carlton he wouldn't have asked to leave. I'd take the fact he asked to leave when he had the chance as better evidence than a post event interview. What else was he going to say at this point.
It's the Blues supporters with no idea about their list. First you all think Murphy and Gibbs are still going to be around when your finally competitive enough to push for a flag, like it's just around the corner and you all keep constantly mentioning ten game players and in many cases zero game players as ready made stars who will make it 100%. No wait and see,no patience just its definite and if you have an opposing view your a hater or a sook. Unbelievable, and the typical Carlton arrogance that has led the club up this path and why it has struggled to get back.
Don't be so sensative and the Dogs rise wasn't that quick,it started before Beveridge got there it was just that 2014 was an off year in the development.I think u blokes proved it can happen pretty quick if u get it right.....flog
Sorry if that has been mentioned but I'm calling bull on that Gibbs wanted to go back to SA for family reasons.
Gibbs is 28 or so and probably has 5 years left. The crows are entering their window while the blues are probably still 3 years away from even playing finals.
It was definatley a football decision to try and move.
That's just my opinion anyway
Supporters were also patient and we weren't calling our kids stars or ten year players before they had even played a game.

The fact that the Crows are in a flag window and that he could wrangle a new big contract (most likely - his Blues one was front ended and is now in the low phase) wouldn't hurt on top of the family stuff, I don't think anyone would be doubting that.
It was simply a good decision for Gibbs in more ways than one to request a trade home. And just as good a decision for us to knock it back unless we got a golden offer.
Agree, it was a business decision by Gibbs, which unfortunatley tells you a lot about his loyality to Carlton, and it wasa business decision for Carlton to request a golden offer and well within their rights to do so. Adelaide should have played harder ball with PD and forced him into the draft and see him go to Queensland but matching any RFA offer. Gibbs was contracted and was easier to play hard ball with, but no compassion was shown and it shouldnt have been
I will say Silvagni is pretty head strong, but it will pay off long term
The crows on the other hand I hope have learnt not to give in on their own players
If we played hardball with PD and forced him into the PS Draft, the same thing that happened with Tippett would have eventuated, which was 'Any team that's not called the Sydney Swans, back off - love KT's management'.
