played through the first couple of hours and so far it seems totally adequate. Combat and movement feels very familiar - it's got that ME sluggishness that they've never seemed to overcome, but the shooting feels nice and punchy and biotic combos feel satisfying to execute. I haven't been able to come to grips with the cover system just yet; instead off pressing A, you just sort of stand near the cover and it automatically sticks. When I'm in a heavy firefight I find myself jumping over cover a lot because my muscle memory kicks in and i tap the a button. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Here's a couple of screens from the prologue. Spoiler tagged just in case

Less than three years since DA:I though and I don't how much is the same team. It's a different time from when BioWare developed for Atari and Lucas Arts.

As much as this is looking like it might be a let down I'm still going in optimistic. Every ME game has had dodgy graphics from creepy mouths (worst AAA developer at mouths ffs), strange elbows (ME3 looked like their arms just folded) to weird twitching during dialog but presentation has never been the charm of the series. Considering they're using mostly the same tools as DA:I I find it very hard to believe the presentation and feel can be any worse. I'm just going to wait until I can experience the world BioWare have created myself, just like any other RPG, if I can get into it then the rest is irrelevant.

I never finished Mass Effect 2 or 3 (good way in both) but I can't remember ever laughing at the human models the way I have for Andromeda

Video has a spoiler that everyone should of guessed. but still spoiler warning

Why did they need to give her lips bulk collagen injections? She looks like this

Well botox would be a good excuse for they the characters cant display emotion.

Side effect of cryo-sleep?

Yeah that looks pretty ******* sweet. Even the faces seem better. I wonder, is all the negative press coming from consoles which would have lower overall graphical settings? (Obviously doesn't address the dialogue issues people have had)

I'll wait and see on this one now, was hyped but now am cautious but those above screenshots look mighty crisp.

The alien models are fapworthy

I reckon bioware did a great job with the original trilogy's alien designs. They hold up really well, even from ME1 which is maybe a little plain-looking in other areas. Not sure about the new aliens. Haven't really captured my attention.

I'm guessing they'll be looking to hire some people who are good at drawing humans after the initial ME:A reactions, lol

Just downloading the trial and will probably spend the full 10 hours trying to make a good looking Ryder. Hopefully the character creator has better woman hair options than Dragon Age, with its 12 variations on a receding crewcut.

User-reviews seem a lot more promising than the press.

I think most people don't get too caught up in the technical side.

From what I'm reading it sounds like exactly what I want, more Mass Effect!

That dialogue though

Cautiously optimistic about this one.
As i still love Mass Effect and it's space opera setting.
The bugs and jankyness is a bit off putting.
Hopefully $$A haven't rushed it out the door.

Yeah not great, but they do have 1,200 characters who have dialogue in the game, with more scripted lines than all the other ME games combined (I think).

Of course it feeds the meme culture well when you get these wacky clips and stupid lines (because no sci-fi movie/game has had a bad line before).
I had a laugh at the stupid animations, but it won't ruin my experience, and from reports most people seem to be able to enjoy the game still.

Pixel counts indicate that during gameplay Mass Effect Andromeda on Xbox One runs at a native resolution of approximately 1564x880. During cutscenes the game either runs at approximately 1344x756 or approximately 1564x880 depending on the cutscene.

the screen taring in cutscenes is really bad.
Its still better than last gen ME games preformed.

I hope the PS4 Pro preforms much better

eb flogging the nomad rc collectors edition for $400 and the diecast nomad edition for $260

Did they even sell all the Titanfall ones they were selling for $400?
Thats just f**king greed from EA on both accounts.

JB selling it for $69

bioware selling the same thing on there website for like $300 usd some people obviosuly love app controlled remote cars

Played a couple of hours of the trial. The characters seem a little forgettable so far (at least compared to the original trilogy) but the gameplay is solid. The dialogue appears to be a step below previous games IMO but hopefully it picks up a little.

Also runs amazingly well on my PC.
