I listen and it mutch better than enything coming out of Adelaide.
I agree, but being better than anything out of Adelaide isn't saying much. At least it's not all about Riley this and Rory that. Far too much Bob Murphy but. I maybe in the minority but I like Hamish Maclachlan. He is on a show called that's racing on the racing channel and he is as funny as ....

So Port, Richmond, Bulldogs, Saints and Essendon are all on 20 pts.

Bombers play Richmond and Saints play Bulldogs so two of these will jump to 24pts at the end of the round.
Which means that if we lose to Geelong, we will drop to 8th spot.

The teams above us all play each other as well, Crows v Freo, Eagles v Giants and us v Cats.
If we beat Geelong, we could go as high as 3rd spot, assuming Freo lose to Crows at AO (likely) and Eagles lose to Giants at Subiaco (less likely)

We need to beat Geelong to make up for that lost game against West Coast and keep in touch with the top 4.

I like how every loss at the moment is a potential disaster to our ladder position, resulting in teams we are much better than taking our spot. Good thing port love a solid unmitigated disaster of a loss. With this in mind, i'm confident.

Yeah. Confident. I like that word.

Ross Lyon can coach, that's obvious. He's doing a great job with a gutted Freo. Interesting to see how he drafts and builds, he's never been in this position before. Doing a pretty good job so far.

Can't coach in Grand Finals though.

Lol they have done it again

I think Freo's revival has been overstated.

They are performing exactly as their team on paper suggests they should. They had 11 players with 100 games or more in their team yesterday. There are plenty of coaches in the league who would like to have Sandilands tapping the footy down to Fyfe and Neale, the Hill brothers and Walters buzzing around, a cool and experienced head like Mundy to drift between midfield and forward line, a defence packed with experienced and finals hardened players, etc.

They also enjoy an immense home ground advantage.

And they have still relied on good fortune to kick last minute go ahead goals in three games this year, all against relatively questionable opposition (Melbourne, North Melbourne, Richmond).

They are rolling along OK but Ross still has a huge challenge ahead to lift them from competitive back to premiership contender.

Greenwood's 15 disposal, 3 goal game against Brisbane was good, but Butcher's 20 disposal, 4 goal game against Brisbane was better :p

There was a bit of Dunstall and Lockett about Butchers performance that day.

I agree, but from an external perspective, they are going to be an interesting one. Let's see how Ross goes when he builds his own list to his style, rather than inheriting a team and fitting them into his style.

Credit where credit is due though, he's had to reinvent his game style and coaching, which he appears on face value to be doing a reasonable job. When I saw them live against us at AO, I thought it was all over for him, it was chocoball at it's worst. However the players (and he) seem to be picking it up and building on it. They've got to do something about their ruck stocks though. Sandilands isn't going to hold much longer.

They will get rolled this Saturday. Absolutely pantsed.

Jimmy Bartel is stating that "non-football" acts such as gut and jumper punches should be assessed just as that and not on the basis of impact and force, as a lot of vicious acts get a financial sanction or no penalty because of that. For example, in most a player will get up after being a bit winded and the MRP cannot say anything other than insufficient force. It would take a gut punch like Cunnington's to Vince yesterday to be viewed as a possible suspension as Vince was off the field for a while. But that is Bartel's point, the fact he was off the field should not change the decision, the act itself should be what draws the penalty.

I have posted this before (the AFL website host it every Monday morning), but gosh, has there ever been a less appealing promotion for a show?

Which one of them is Wilson?

Just seeing the way Bucks and Ed react in the rooms after a nothing win is interesting.. wives n' children n' hugging n' kissing n' crying it's whack

A win that saw them climb up the ladder and keep in touch with the teams above them is a nothing win?

Yeah, people dropping their bundle about ladder position when we have the first up bye need to calm the farm. I will be all over the shop for the next 5 weeks.

If we beat Geelong and go third we will be up there having played one game less than our opponents. Talk about a good position to be in.
