Yeah which feels really good that we have turned 7 top 4 finishes into 4 flags, whilst Geelong are something like 9 top 4 finishes into 3 flags. All I was saying is whilst we have fallen victim due to a decade at the top, its amazing Geelong is still very strong.

Hawks 4 grand finals: 13 quarters won. Unequalled I'm half a century

Cats 4 grand finals: 9 quarters won
(Won only 1 quarter in 2009, same as 2008)

Interesting that Adelaide is going about as well here score-wise as we did against Port. They also had a worse 1st Q against North than we did against Port. Yet they're top of the ladder.

Gives me comfort that you don't need to improve a truckload to move back up the ladder - just get the system sorted and some game into the young kids.

I noted that. Commentators have a different vibe though

Also won two quarters in a fifth grand final apparently, I don't remember that game but apparently we played in it

Look there's no doubt we got junktime goals to flatter the scoreline last night, but I do honestly feel like the comp has evened right out and we just happen to be a bottom feeder for the moment.
Crows have had more convincing wins to go with their bad losses, I'd expect the commentators to cut them more slack

It is pretty even though, nobody is looking bulletproof at the moment

Adelaide are frontrunners, just like Port. Look great against mid-table teams but go to water against sustained pressure which is why they crashed out of last year's finals. Its GWS' flag to lose if they can get enough players back & beat their MCG hoodoo.

GWS in a canter they have so many players out at the moment if they get any luck at the back end of the season they will stroll it in

We won't be bouncing back with top 4 in 2018 like they did in 2016 after missing finals, I think we can all agree on that.
Speak for yourself. Who knows what happens post season.

l hope geelong make the gf, start favourites only to lose, a pity it couldn't be against us.
They won't get near the GF.

Unfortunately, I don't see anyone capable of stopping Geelong this year. Just thinking of Duckwood holding up the cup makes me wanna puke!:(
There's this side in NSW with about 25 first round picks on its list who will tear them a new one.

Assuming they don't choke in the GF. Their MCG record is putrid and the largest crowd they've ever played in front of would be 50k at best. They have quite a few guys like Johnson, Deledio, Griffen, Shaw etc. with big game experience but they're likely to need it.

Naah mate they are juggernaut they have already displayed quite a bit of resilience this year. No ones going to beat them this year if they get their injured players back

I for one am thoroughly enjoying just how even the competition is this year. Making for some far more exciting games when anyone is capable of beating anyone else
Really couldn't confidently predict the Grand Finalists at this point

If their injury run doesn't continue I'm tipping them to make the GF for sure. After that its anyone's trophy. Geelong looked like a cert in 2008 too, its all about who copes better with the pressure on the day.

Assuming no choking though with a full list no other team should get within 4 or 5 goals of them. Scary to think Deledio hasn't played a game for them yet, pretty handy matchwinner to squeeze into their already obscene forwardline or midfield.

I actually think they have potentially a steep drop coming in 2-3 seasons

Depth isn't super great and there young group is pretty thin talent wise

They'll lose a few guys and have a few entering heading towards the cliff

Could be in a similar spot to us currently very soon

Hope your right but I remember hearing the same thing about Geelong two years ago.

My brother in law is a cats fan , reckons they have this year and maybe next to contend and that's it

Maybe it is more hope then anything else !

There win last week was huge for them , lots of personal down and knocking off the eagles over there

If they get there core group back within 4 weeks of finals they will be very hard to beat

The cats look good down in their shithole stadium but I cannot see a team so reliant on two players winning the flag. Doggies and gws grand final for mine.
Surely the load Dangerfield and Selwood shoulder must result in them breaking down in injury sooner or later
