So Kane Cornes now saying Crows should've offered their 2016 + 2017 1st's for Gibbs last year. Hahaha going to cost them a bit more now you clown. Maybe you should think about that instead of writing up a pile of shit about how he wasn't worth that.

If Adelaide backed themselves that would have effectively been for two picks around the 15 mark and not so long ago, pick 15 was a second rounder.

To be fair though, two firsts was too much, but we're not complaining about the net outcome.

Just an observation but if you watch Gibbs closely he seems to me he wants to be there,plays with passion,loves his teammates and talks the team up.Not sure that's a player who wants out,but who knows what's happening behind closed doors.Pressure from the fam might be telling.

If you believe what was reported on radio at trade time, he has no problem with Carlton, he loves the place.
Only issue is family.

You can't trade crap and receive good, that's not how it works.

Jones would currently have good currency in what is being touted as a weak draft.

Completely disagree. So, 2 firsts is too much to pay for a premiership? Not a chance. It's clear as daylight their midfield sucks when Sloane is tagged. With this season being the way it is, this year might've been their best chance at a flag. If only they had Bryce instead of their first pick from last year.

Also #13 + #15 is fair for a contracted player of Gibbs' talent.

Disagree, but who knows what other clubs will think in October especially if his form continues.

Jones is out of contract at seasons end. If we don't offer him a new deal he can go to a club of his choice as a dfa.
If we offer a deal he signs it.
He would then have to accept a trade after just re-signing.

I think all fair minded people would have said that two firsts was too much to expect.
The Premiership argument is valid to a point, but there are no guarantees attached to that either.

Risk vs reward and the first and a second may have seen it done. Anyway, Adelaides loss, but it is all a bit done and over with now.........until.....

Great win yesterday. Had heard we were after May before the game (we have plenty of defenders so I didn't really think much of it). Was really surprised to see him shake hands with Charlie Curnow at the start of the game then also when there was a fight he went to get involved and thought twice about it.

He is a gun, would he be a good target for us to go after considering it's free agency costs us nothing.

I think many are assuming that he is still keen to head back to Adelaide, if we think he will want to go back there once his contract expires then we should probably trade him whilst we can get value for him. If he is keen to stay and finish as a one club player then I would prefer to keep him, quality player.

I dont care if he still wants to go. If he's playing the kind of football he is now, we'd be nuts to trade him before his contract is up.

Seniors: Gorringe, Armfield, Palmer (If he did come on board for just the one year) = 3
Rookies: Glass-McCasker & Gallucci = 2
Others that have little time to show form: Buckley, White (can see us rookie-ing him), Jaksch (now that Jones is doing so well) & Graham = 4
Retirees: Rowe = 1

Something like this may be as deep as we can go with the cuts.........even of we did go this deep. 10 players cut may yet be too much.

Would you risk losing him as a FA when we have climbed the ladder and only get say a pick betweem 10 - 12, when he commands so much more value if we traded him at the end of the year if he wanted to go back to SA?

With this season being a weak draft ( or so it seems) and with us missing a 2nd round pick I can't see us delisting more than 3 on the main list and 3 on the Rookie ( I fear at his age time is running out for Gus - he just isn't providing enough run and looks too immobile to play ones). Obviously multi trade deals may affect this.

that's how I see it but I think Rowe will be given another season just because of his ability to fill in back, forward or even ruck if needed.
