I'm also not confident that Dusty will leave Richmond, but, given that he's a restricted free agent, I doubt that they'll be stupid enough to try and shortchange him again.

Dusty getting short changed last contract , where Richmond pulled their initial offer , and gave him a lesser offer after touring GWS is news to me.
If that is the case I'm very confident based on human nature , Dusty will look elsewhere for bigger $$.

I don't know if we offered a lower amount in 2013 after the GWS visit, and don't know if we upped it for the extension in 2015, but I would be surprised if there is any huge resentment about it on Dusty's side. I think the club has done a bit extra for him like extra time off to go to NZ to visit his dad.

I think Dane Swan said that football success ie playing finals was just as important to him as the money, because the money will come either way. Fair enough the bloke wanting to put off negotiations until the end of this year after the trash the Tiges served up last year.

In saying this, I have absolutely no info on what he will do, just a strong desire to see him stay at the club and get paid what he deserves.

I reckon we should give dusty a miss, spend the coin on developing younger players maybe a experienced player from another club, where would the incentive be for Martin to peform once his paid up front, look at Franklin.
The young players want to prove themselves and strive to perform we are in a good financial position and we should be spending the money wisely.
The positive is that Richmond will keep having to pump up his wage.

I think he'll stay a Tiger and as others said he'll get the money he deserves and life goes on. We on the North board will then decide he isn't really that good and we dodged a bullet That is how it all works and then one of us hears a rumour and 568 pages later we'll think we've got our man...... well maybe .
